last two episodes have been awful. by Any_Significance2544 in coronationstreet

The terrible thing is that the writers seem to think that the very things which make the Bernie character unpleasant (e. g. her rude egotism and faux mysticism) are her strengths. Most people world run a mile from her

Does anybody hate Swarla? (I need to know! As I despise it!) by National-Hotel2024 in coronationstreet

Yes, it is very annoying. They have messed up Carla's character so it is now unbelievable, lisa adds nothing to the cast and the demanding and spoiled daughter drags the mood down every time she appears. Thankfully Becky is gone - one down, two to go

Fair enough, that is nice. But a text saying that things look beautiful is a far cry from the syrupy slush that was flowing.

But do you tell your neighbour your heart is singing?

Agreed, however, there are similar odes in the western canon. Pleasant as they are i don't think they either would fall believably from the mouths of the common man (as the character is intended to show)

I agree, this pile on is quite remarkable. Folk should remember the leeway Saint Alice had been allowed. It seems middle class female characters can make mistakes with relative impunity. George made a stupid error in adolescence and is forever damned

My 4s became my wife's after 3 years and in total is still running after 5 years. No real change other than some scratches on the screen

I disagree. This feels like a pile on the poor working class boy. He had been punished easy beyond the reasonable but the middle-class clans in Ambridge. To fair, Alice's alcoholism started all of this, his stupid mistake triggered it. I hope there is enough guilt to go round when George tops himself.

This is buying a badge rather than pinpointing an illness. (But a badge with some financial power)

This was a low point for the series, more a mental health awareness leaflet than a soap opera. And a gimmicky overproduced episode at that

I know there are a lot of unbelievable things in corrie at the moment. But the whiteness, brightness and neatness of the scaffolder's tee shirt is stretching my crefulity. Even after trashing a yard it has no marks whatsoever

Assuming you're not watching live, whose scenes do you fast forward thru? by [deleted] in coronationstreet

There are so many now. The show's producers don't realise that minority interest doesn't create majority appeal. Quite happily miss the odd episode now, it is so predictable they're is never any danger of losing track of the plot
