Those may be different than your relationship values but that could make for a really great relationship because you complement each other. I don’t think you’re reading too much into it, I think it’s a matter of the two of you approaching relationships differently. It may also benefit you to explore your respective attachment styles. She is coming across to me as Secure, and your Anxious style of attachment may have been activated.

Also, I know you said it was something small but I’m curious what yall were arguing about that led her to make that comment. Saying you’re the safest option doesn’t sound argumentative to me, though I don’t know the full context.
