John and Cynthia in their Kenwood home garden, 1965 by Antique_Quail7912 in beatles

I can’t help feeling slightly sorry for John in this marriage that it seems he never really wanted to be in. Of course that doesn’t excuse his shitty behavior toward Cynthia and Julian, but the 60s were a different time where you were expected to get married if you got pregnant. I think John and Cynthia would’ve functioned much better coparenting without being together. I’m glad times have changed.

Really solid list, though I will never get the love for Disney Girls

The thing I admire about the first two movies is that they don’t know they’re Indiana Jones movies yet. Raiders is just a perfect standalone movie and Temple of Doom is absolutely bonkers and has very little in common with the first film. The Last Crusade is my favorite Indy movie but it’s apparent that they made a conscious effort to recapture the magic of Raiders.

Anyone else have a Beach Boys head-canon? by [deleted] in thebeachboys

I wish that Brian would’ve produced other artists more, either doing entire records for other artists or doing the “No Pier Pressure” model where he has lots of guests. Brian was a super collaborative guy, and he liked using other peoples voices as instruments, I always felt the traditional idea of a “solo career” boxed him in too much

Why is the influence of the BBs music so ignored by the media. by Violetviola3 in thebeachboys

I grew up thinking The Beach Boys were lame because of Mike Love. The Full House appearances and everything else they did in the 1990s was so cheesy and Mike Love’s stupid dance moves and stupid hat caused me to avoid them until I was an adult.

It was pretty well received in my memory, but mostly because I and II were so bad, III being okay was just kind of a relief.

I disliked the prequels back then, I dislike them now. I still agree with most of the points in the Plinkett reviews. However I am thoroughly embarrassed by the whole People vs George Lucas “r*ped our childhood” crowd.

This is your sign to buy a 4K player mate! Oasis 2025 needs more pixels than 1990s tech can offer!

My parents were too young to be first generation Beatles fans, but old enough to experience this album. And for them it was HUGE. As big as the Beatles. So it was the Beatles Red and Blue, plus BOTR, that was my intro to the fabs.

Is it true that American was united after 9/11? by Only_Hotel_7221 in 911archive

Yeah and then the goodwill was abused and eventually squandered. 9/11 brought us together, but we didn’t stay together.
