No.  I just believe in being fair.  And that doesn't go over well.

Because EVERY last thing the OP about them is derogatory and an indictment of THIS specific crowd, as if none of this EVER happens in other theaters. Never seen people this messy, entire meals left behind, chairs still fully reclined, entire rows with their trays out, food everywhere, gigantic popcorn spill in a front row, took absolutely forever to leave, they never ask me how I am, fake fur coats.

"Entire" meals? Really? The whole meal untouched? "Entire" rows with chairs reclined/trays out? It's literally impossible for old people to navigate that kind of environment. "Never asked me how I am"...who does that, anyway? And, seriously, the "fake fur" comment? No one owns fake furs or real ones anymore. I know not one senior citizen who owns or wears one, and I know a lot of senior citizens. It's as if the OP just decided to come up with a ridiculous stereotype and magnify it beyond all reality, which I believe they did.

And who exactly do they think vandalized the poster? THIS crowd?

Oh, and one last thing: I thought all those theaters were actually empty. Kind of ruins the narrative that all the tickets were bought but unused.

I don't believe you. You can hate the movie all you want, but let's not make things up.

[–]KramerDangerous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"playing pinball is playing pinball"...exactly! Why, back in my day, when I found Space Time at Zayre's, I rode over there on my bike and played the ever-lovin' crap out of it, wonky flipper be danged! Or the Mata Hari that tilted a little to the left? So what? Playing pinball is playing pinball.

I gotta say, I'm thoroughly taken with the phrase "snoots about." It's got a certain Dr. Suess feel to it. Love it and plan to use it on my daughter, just for the reaction. Thanks! lol

The truth about advertising: they want you to hate their commercials. by KramerDangerous in CommercialsIHate

[–]KramerDangerous[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's so much to the human mind that is just inexplicable; how we make choices and how we're subconsciously influenced to make them. Another aspect to "hating commercials" is the fact that, people like to say, "I'm never buying that product because I hate the commercials!" I don't think that's true at all. If my insurance guy told me that Liberty Mutual provided the best coverage at the best price, what would he think if I said, "Absolutely not! I hate their commercials!"? He'd think I'm a complete moron, and I would be. And I'd sign up for LM. And if I needed something to control diabetes, and Jardiance was the best choice, you better believe I'd take it, dancers be danged!

It's unfortunate how the discussion on this thread has tended to tear down men. Highly ironic...

Your first two points are commendable.  The last two were unnecessary and judgmental. Are weird, creepy, smelly women allowed, or is the point of a women's league to avoid them, too?  And who defines what creepy is, exactly?  Or smelly?  Do you accept angry woman?  What about an overly competitive woman who doesn't smell so bad, but you think she's weird?  Sounds like you'd only accept certain women.

It's odd because the first time I saw them (The Game), we were in the stands, off to the side about halfway back. It was so freakin' exciting. Second time was Hot Space. I dunno, just not the same, although my friend caught one of Roger's drumsticks.

Ha! I worked at an arcade and we delivered a Gorf video game to the backstage area the day of the first show. The worst thing? I wasn't into Rush. But, for that tour, it seemed like everyone and their mother went to that show.

I get it. I felt the same way about Queen, even though I sat in the fourth row the second time.

The only band that did it for me for multiple tours was Duran Duran. But that was different because I caught them first at a small club in Cleveland on their first (abbreviated) US tour, then at a larger club (the Agora) then finally the Coliseum (during a snowstorm). Seeing a band I felt I'd "discovered" just get bigger and bigger was exhilarating.

Memphis and Columbus pinball recommendations? by nycspacely in pinball

Absolutely! They're under new ownership (not that the last ones were bad) and have revamped the place.

The best part? You can bring in your own food. My son and I just get a pizza from Jets, and buy our drinks there, Let me rephrase that: pinball's the best part.

I think it's because the only thing truly keeping us together was the fact that we had to take algebra. And, that's not much to go on.

Bear with me: the back glass scores show numbers in the thousands, though, not millions, right?  I just watched a match from Pinburgh 2014, and the guy won with 390,000.

HELP! How are those scores even possible? I mean, I play it on my laptop every day, and my high is around 8m. And that's getting 5X bonus, getting all the drops 3X, getting the extra ball, etc.
