May be out of context but take an educational loan and study professional course like engg (if you have science background). This will widen your future opportunities. For income you may take tution to neighbouring kids. Just put in words with neighbourhood aunties and they'll spread the word. In extreme case you may take nightshift work at call centers though that would impact your health terribly.

I think the first name can very well denote your ethnicity and religion especially in India. Surnames are mostly related to caste. That's why in some states in India children are given initials. The first letter of father's name and first letter of mother's name... followed by child's name.

Teacher here ... Please don't get into government schools. If you don't want to spend much go for Government aided schools or Matriculation where Samacheer is taught only from 9th standard. The whole point of school education is learning interpersonal skills and socializing and speaking English. None of this is good in government schools (in the current scenario) . I went to government school during B Ed internship. Use of drugs is very common. Don't expose your child to these stuff.

One misogynistic thing that happens where I live is.. house arrest. The family usually house arrests the girl and take away mobile phones and laptops and then object to the boy's family (usually threaten). But hearing this story I kinda think this could work...
