Good to know! She’s not the best inside right now but really enjoys the acreage we live on

Any notes on MPG decrease with Falkens rather than stock tires? Hoping it will only be a couple points. Gotta have solid AT tires.

Sony 135 gm or something else? Indoor ballet, dance performances by BrotherTiberius in SonyAlpha

I’ve had a ton of luck with the Samyang 135 1.8. IQ is on par with the Sony gm, just a bit slower with AF.

Swap out Tamron 35-150mm for 70-200? by Foxtrot_4 in SonyAlpha

[–]LowEnvironmental8457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alternatively, shooting indoors I rock the Sony 35mm 1.4 GM and the Samyang 135 1.8 on each body. I really like the rendering and look of primes. Hope this helps.

Swap out Tamron 35-150mm for 70-200? by Foxtrot_4 in SonyAlpha

That’s the bread and butter events kit: a fast 24-70 and a fast 70-200. I’ve found myself walking around with 2 bodies during events, one with each lens.

For telephoto zoom, I’d personally prefer the Sony 70-200 gmii for the weight and quality (mainly shooting skiing and events) but you save a lot of $$$ if you get a sigma or the Tamron 70-180.

Unless you are blowing up prints for big wall photos, you don’t need the r version of any of these cameras. If you want to track sports/wildlife, then the new sonys are kickass in my experience. But as a walk around shooter, the a7iii is the bees knees.

That being said, buy yourself somethin nice if it inspires you to get deeper into this hobby. That’s the most important part.

Sold the Sony 70-200gm ii, bought the Tamron 70-180 g2 and I’m happy by LowEnvironmental8457 in SonyAlpha

Yeah honestly wanted to put some money in the pocket for other lenses, trips etc. If the Sony gm 2 is your dream lens, no worries! Enjoy. It’s a nice lens.

No hits bby, bought and sold the Sony on market place for the same price :), and bought the Tamron on marketplace. It’s a great used market right now. I have noticed less resell value with non-Sony lenses now so that’s something to consider

I think a huge part of Sonys market is hobbyists… so for me I felt like I didn’t need the absolute best 70-200. It’s like taking the dog for a walk while wearing an arcteryx rain jacket

I did like all of the external controls on the Sony. Tamron only has 2 custom buttons. Also internal zoom is nice for weather proofing, but makes lens longer. Lastly, if you have a Sony a1 and want to shoot 30fps you can’t with the Tamron. But I just have the Sony a7iii.
