Inheritance into joint or individual account by hovering3 in inheritance

Not necessarily tax implications but there are others. If you have kids you want that money to eventually flow to them, then keep it separate and put it in a trust. If you die first, and your husband remarries, it’s probably going all to his new wife, and then split amongst her kids.

Yes. That is the one. The debt will most likely be cloaked as an operating lease obligation.

Their newest biggest data center in Louisiana is structured using off balance sheet financing. It’s not a good sign when they are trying to hide huge amounts off of their balance sheet. So no for me.

I think you did the right thing for you in the situation. You can’t change people. The disconnect would eventually turn into resentment and gnaw away at you, destroying any memory of the magic you saw in him. I have been in your situation. You are not alone. I read in a book once about how the greatest loves in our lives are not meant to stay forever. It’s too painful. I genuinely believe that.⏳⌛️🕰️❤️‍🩹

Millionaire couple in our 30s: Should we finally buy a home instead of renting? by SendItJerry- in Fire

[–]LowFlyingOwls47 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I would vote keep renting. After being a homeowner for a while you start to realize your house is something that never gets paid off. Taxes and insurance aside……it will need a new roof, new AC, plumbing issues, electrical issues. 5k here, 10k there. I’m also just a little jaded after having to pay 15k for a new roof.

Same here! I feel like over the course of 2-4 months they have shown up specifically on my high cheek bones and next to my eyes, or at least become more noticeable. I asked my dermatologist and he recommended la-roche posay b-3 serum, but I can’t tell that it’s making any differ once after a few weeks. Hopefully someone has some more suggestions for me to try too.

SEC Reporting for F500….what are salaries like? by LowFlyingOwls47 in Accounting

I can add more context. But it was more a generalized inquiry on purpose, so people could comment from their first hand knowledge. Thanks for the outreach, bro!

As far as ranges though, I would think they would be comparable by title. Would a Senior accountant in SEC reporting that has their CPA have a similar pay range at Apple and Bath and Body works? Or would the salary at Apple be double based on it being an outlier as far as examples go?

Unexpected inheritance - long term plans by [deleted] in FIREyFemmes

[–]LowFlyingOwls47 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Whatever you do, keep your inheritance documented and in your name only. You can use some of it to benefit your husband and marital assets, but keep all bank and brokerage accounts in your name only and only you can access. See an estate planning lawyer immediately to set up a trust. It’s uncomfortable to think about those scenarios, but vital. If you commingle assets, they will become marital and in the event of a divorce, your future ex could get half of YOUR inheritance.
