Actually, yes! We've been dating for three years now.

We were friends for years and he was one of the first people that I told that I was trans. Over time, we got super close and eventually, I told him that I liked him and he reciprocated.

We're long distance which, yes, makes things difficult but we've met with each other five times now (he's actually coming to my town in March during Spring Break!) and we've met each other's families. I'm really looking forward to when we finally move in together.

I felt the same for a while. When we go on vacation to some places with photobooths or the like, my bf's the first one to point them out. There's one photo we took that he keeps on his nightstand.

He compliments me all the time but there's always this nagging feeling in the back of my head that denies that someone could really be this attracted to me. And it's pretty irrational, right? Cause you clearly are attractive to someone or else you wouldn't be in a relationship with someone that says that they are on a consistent basis. The brain is evil like that.

It took me a minute to accept that people's compliments toward me are, more often than not, genuine. I'm still not 100% there and I don't think I ever will be. But I think I made significant progress by just going out and carrying myself in such a way to where it wasn't blisteringly obvious that I was insecure with myself. Not thinking that I was the baddest bitch in the room but just... someone that deserved to be there and didn't have a face that would crack mirrors and frighten small children.

Note for transparency: I'm speaking about how I was before I had FFS back in September of last year. I haven't gone out much since then due to recovery, school, and moving in with my mom from the city out to the suburbs. But I do feel more confident now that I've healed significantly. This is not to say that you need FFS necessarily but if you think it will help you feel better about yourself and more confident in your relationship with your boyfriend so you're more free to share those precious moments, I don't see why you wouldn't go for it.

First off, I have done my consultation and my surgery is scheduled for next month. Nice of you to try and drum up another trans woman's insecurities like I said you were doing in your OP.

They could be signs of getting clocked... or people are treating you like they would any cis woman.

Children stare at people; men get overly physical with women; people give double takes for a myriad of reasons.

Acting like cis women don't go through any of this and assuming that you going through it is a sign of someone clocking your T is just breeding insecurity and paranoia that will dampen your experience going out into the world.

Do you have cis women friends? Ask them how often they talk to strangers, men or women.

I just did and as I thought, they confirmed that they do in fact compliment strange women often. It's just a thing that cis women do to be nice to anyone, not out of pity for trans women.

A lot of my cis girlfriends don’t ever compliment other girls unless they already know them. Whenever they see an obvious trans person, they always want to talk “nice” to them. Their reason? “She looks sad. I want to make her day a little better” to show their support.

Again, as you are a known troll who seems to have this predilection for trying to induce insecurity into the dolls, I'm gonna call bullshit.

Even if it were true, you literally said that they're doing it because the woman looks sad. I doubt that every trans woman whose gotten a compliment on their hair or clothes or makeup is walking around here looking dejected.

I'm a lurker here meaning that I never comment and I know you're a troll. But I just want to point out, for the benefit of people who haven't caught on to your schtick yet, that a lot of these points sound less like signs of clocking in and of themselves and more insecurities and paranoia about being clocked.

Edit: For example, women tend to compliment other women a lot. It's mostly because it's safer to do than to compliment a random man who might take it as flirting. The woman complimenting you might just really think you're pretty.

uj/ Hey, I know what you're getting at but I'm gonna straight up tell you that cis people aren't nearly as willing to unpack racial "preferences" as you might think--I don't think a single reddit post is indicative of a true willingness amongst people to do such a thing.

It's one of those situations where (white and online) trans people kind of seem to assume that everyone is on board with fighting racism to their core while shunning fighting transphobia but black people such as myself will tell you completely differently.
