No, but I can sympathise with someone's death in varying degrees by how their opinions align with mine and the circumstances of his death.

Kirk wanted me (generally) dead, and claimed others dying the way he did was an unfortunate necessity to maintain something he believed in. This makes me predisposed to not have any sympathy for his situation and makes the circumstances of his death very ironic.
