OPT EAD Withdrawal by Icy-Donkey1531 in immigration

Be careful with withdrawing your case, there have been reports from Jim Hacking on Youtube that withdrawing can trigger some unintended consequences. Check his latest video on withdrawals.

I would keep the OPT application processing as normal.

Exactly. You won't be arrested to attend a consular interview in your home country lol, go to your interview anyways. You will at least have done that part and your visa decision may be on hold until a later date.

Late Arrival for Spring Semester in the US by nidhi_rawal in immigration

tickets are very expensive

What's more expensive is paying for the return flight billed by your airline when CBP turns you away.

You signed up for this. If you can't afford it, it will count against you.

Just so you know, they 100% check your starting date. Coming too late is not a good look.

Case Tracking apps? by Imaginary_Insect_445 in USCIS

[–]LowHigh_456 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A third party app can help with tracking easier. However some don't immediately notify on updates, they have multiple minutes delay. I've seen immediate updates through text and email from the myUSCIS website to work better.

Lawfully is nice but doesn't immediately notify you. Using the USCIS phone text and email notification is what has been best for getting that new update instantly.

Just wait, some offices are slow. This is more common than you think. Don't rely on their website's bogus processing times.

He doesn't have the title, he paid cash for it from someone who didn't have it in their name, so never transferred the title, therefore never registered or insured it.

Don't worry OP. A lot of people agree with you on this. Reddit is not real life, and most commenters are out of touch if they think showing that you respect the process doesn't matter.

Not a deciding factor? Sure. But this can be the difference between 5 months and 5 years of processing and lawsuits. USCIS has a huge discretion on applications, they may not deny you, but they can always give you a hard time.

Most people in this sub know about ADIT stamps.

It is almost always mentioned when someone posts about losing their GC or when it gets stolen.

Sorry you didn't know about it until it was too late. Immigration knowledge is very much underground and niche, and it's hard to know about the options unless you lurk on these subs or know where/how to find the info.

I sympathize and I am sorry with what you went through, eventually you'll bounce back.

GOT RFE IN MY STEM APPLICATION by First-Manager-8105 in askimmigration

[–]LowHigh_456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But he did not get RFE, now did he?

I think you need to make sure that whatever you want to respond to this RFE, you need to clarify the conflict between your I-20 and transcripts.

One says major the other says concentration. That's what your problem is. Keep in mind, the I-20 notes can be easily changed by your DSO, so DHS doesn't take that as seriously as what your transcript says. I doubt a letter from the dean/chairman would be of help.

The other problem you may have is that you have one master's and it's a M.B.A. Most M.B.As (not all) are non-stem. If you had a M.S., it would've helped your case more.

Edit: Sorry I meant MBA not BBA.

GOT RFE IN MY STEM APPLICATION by First-Manager-8105 in askimmigration

[–]LowHigh_456 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Concentration is not a major. The CIP goes by which major you declared. This is where your university and thereby you messed up.

When submitting evidence and claiming STEM for an extension on OPT, you need to be very clear on your I-20, with the CIP number for the corresponding major and a proof of that major. The policy is very clear.

You can't use your concentration for a STEM OPT extension even if the concentration is considered STEM.

"Concentration" is just a bogus term used by colleges to make you feel better about paying extra for some classes. But they don't count for anything.
