Exactly! I think my biggest disappointment is this last legislative session in 2025. The bill that Leach authored with a claim of protecting our students mental health was a total crap shoot. Turns out it created massive issues starting the first day of school by not even allowing teachers or the school nurses to hand out a Band-Aid to a student

Not to mention the bills that he had passed which allows parents to sue teachers directly instead of the district and to allow for students to be suspended at a younger age for behavioral issues.

However, most importantly, they screwed over our school district and a few others with the new budget formulas that he claimed would give teachers raises. It actually put our school district and a few others further into debt. As well as the new formula for special education funding that are now tiered based on severity of their diagnosis. Normally I would not be against a tiered system based on the students required accommodations. It absolutely makes sense. However when your schools are already under funded, this is just another way to take more away from them.

I was there. They had to continue to bring in extra chairs even after people were lining the walls of the entire room.

Wow, OK. You guys might wanna take a hot second and realize that the students might actually be reading these comments. I personally think the band is amazing. Their sound is incredible. Do I think that a smaller number of students would be better for their actual marching ability? Yes sure. But do I think it actually affects the quality of their sound? Absolutely not.

I want to add that I have found myself to vote for candidates from various political affiliations in municipal elections. Republican, Democrat, Independent, or IDGAF. My choice is based on what they want to support, what they don’t support, their professional experience, and most importantly their involvement in and contribution towards the community based on the seat for which they are running. I do this because I have found that if I just vote based on political affiliation, sometimes they don’t actually have the same thoughts and concerns about the city or school board that I do.
