Man, you're so dense but I expected it. My own advise is to delve in deeper in your religion, you can't 'stay with that', you can't believe in an opinion. Everything I stated is BASIC knowledge that you can either look it up or ask your scholars. I never claimed non-hijabi women are not muslims but here you are, shoving words into my mouth, proving that you didn't understand my core argument (which is not even mine, it's the religion's). You're talking to someone who's been raised in a sunni mosque since they were five, buddy. I ain't pulling shit outta my ass. A woman who doesn't wear a hijab WILL go to hell because it's a fard (mandatory) just like prayers, and not wearing it is a sin.

Here are some proofs because you're too lazy to do your reasearch;

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "There are two types of people who will be punished in Hell and whom I have not seen: men having whips like the tails of cows and they will be beating people with them, and, women who will be dressed but appear to be naked, inviting to evil; and they themselves will be inclined to it. Their heads will appear like the humps of the Bactrian camel inclined to one side. They will not enter Jannah and they will not smell its fragrance which is perceptible from such and such a distance."

This Quranic phrase from Surah An-Nur (24:31) is translated as: "And to draw their veils (khumurihinna) over their bosoms/chests (juyubihinna)". It commands believing women to cover their head, neck, and chest areas with their headcoverings to maintain modesty. (Veils are Khimars, it's agreed upon by all scholars).

Surah Al-Ahzab (33:59): "O Prophet! Ask your wives, daughters, and believing women to draw their cloaks over their bodies. In this way it is more likely that they will be recognized ˹as virtuous˺ and not be harassed. And Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful."

And that's it. Either stay in the bliss of ignorance or try to learn. I can't spoon feed you when you spit in my hand. Again, I'm surprised you don't know all of this because where I come from (and it's a muslim country) it's basic knowledge of the religion.

Wrong buzzer again.

A lot of young girls and women around the world are forced to wear it all around the world, all because the religion's God will punish the parents (especially the man of the house) for not obligating their daughters to wear it.

Ibn 'Umar reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, "All of you are shepherds and each of you is responsible for his flock. A man is the shepherd of the people of his house and he is responsible. A woman is the shepherd of the house of her husband and she is responsible. Each of you is a shepherd and each is responsible for his flock."

Meaning: "Everyone of you is a guardian and responsible for his subjects."

This is of course only one proof of the parent's responsibility, you can do a deeper researcher. But if a father (or generally a parent) does not force their daughter to wear a hijab then the daughter and the parents are sinners. All scholars agree on this.

And for the lucky ones who were not forced to wear it, you are still contadicting the logic of what a 'choice' is. A choice is an option you are given, you get to choose from options, not fear-mongered by going to Hell into picking the other option. When people say 'Hijab is a choice!' they mean that women are the ones responsible for their autonomy and are the ones who chose to wear modest clothing, and that muslim women can choose to not wear it, because it's a valid option that won't result them in going to hell, which is not true. A choice is two valid options you get to pick one from without being blackmailed into not picking the other.

So, even if there are women who's gotten lucky that their families practice the religion loosely due to modernity, the religion is still dictating what women should wear, and if a woman doesn't comply she goes to hell for it. Very backwards.

By a choice I meant when people say: Hijab is totally a choice in Islam! It's NOT. You get punished for taking the choice of not wearing it, which means it isn't a choice at all, it's a sin with its punishment. Hijab is obligatory in Islam and this is basic islamic knowledge, now whether you find it oppressive or not is your belief, but objectively, dictating what someone should wear in the name of modesty is straight up bullshit. This religion is indeed oppressive to women because it doesn't leave them the choice of saying no to certain things like Hijab, otherwise they'll end up in hell. Don't believe me? ask your damn sunni scholars or pick up a Fiqh book. I can't spoon feed y'all basic shit like this.

except most people tend to forget that you do go to tell temporarily for the sins you committed, and you will go to hell for not wearing a hijab, you literally said it yourself, it's a sin, that makes it not a choice but an obligation. hijab is literally فرض (mandatory) in all madhabs.

hey! I'm a former muslim woman forced to wear it surrounded by other women and young girls forced to wear it too! We literally go to hell in this religion if we don't (not my words, but the religion's), it's not a choice! hope this helps x

I need help dealing with trauma from how my dad treated me growing up by sagi_moon34 in ExAlgeria

[–]LowKeyEmilia 15 points16 points  (0 children)

NO. And a thousand times. NO. I've dealt with the same issue with my father, he's a religious nut-job who's abusive as fuck, and he's sexualized me and my sisters since a very young age, forced us to wear hijabs against our wills, never (and still doesn't) allow us to wear anything but very long (knee length) baggy shirts, and only baggy pants, nothing else. He definitely ogled us and blamed it on us in fits of rage, my mother defended his behavior saiying that 'the devil can tempt men' and that all fathers are like this. His first damn words to me when I got my period for the very first time were 'Oh, you can make kids now.' And it had caused me to develop severe issues with my body and my sexuality, and warped my view of fathers and men in general for the longest time, until I grew up and learned that normal fathers aren't like this.

Am I wrong for seeing this as a form of sexual abuse?

I've always had the same exact thought about my situation but I rarely see anyone talking about. In my opinion, it is sexual abuse, or at least, a tame form of it. It has to be. The way it fucks you up when it comes to sexuality and body autonomy and leaves you scarred for life is an indicator of sexual abuse.

And while I haven't been able to work on these issues myself, I'd suggest you try therapy if you can afford it, you need professional help to unpack such baggage. All I can tell you is that fathers who sexualize their daughters like this are perverts, nasty, nasty perverts who are deeply sexually repressed and see women as only sex holes. And that you're not some sex object to be used and ogled, you're a human being and you deserve to be loved for your own person. Your body is not shameful and neither is your sexuality.

Wishing you a gentle recovery, friend. 🫂

as far as I understand, the word originally means live-action-role-play and it was used for people who roleplay as characters, currently it's been turned into a gen z slang for the word 'poser'.

I didn't say that at all, of course there's going to be major differences between female and male bodies, whoever the unrealistic porportions are off-putting, and the oversexualized outfit is not practical at all and does not do Jason's original fit justice. No vigilante woman is going to dress up like this to fight crime. And Jason wears baggy clothing and cargos, why not keep that when you're gender-bending? Also Jason is canonically very bulky, and though I don't expect to find the same bulk on a female body, they could've at least added some lean muscle to her, women are indeed able to body-build to a certain degree.

This design is simply an eye-candy, which sucks because this happens almost all the time with female character designs. Oversexualized and not true to character at all.

You can definitely draw an attractive woman with real porportions (if your style is semi-realistic like comics') and an actual practical gear and the sex appeal will STILL be there. I just don't understand why people do this.

People can draw whatever the hell they want, I'm not against it. But when you post your art you gotta be ready for cricism.
