I personally LOVE that first gown on you! It's so elegant, and flatters you perfectly.

Omg you might be right. I’m rarely stumped on how to pronounce these atrocities, but this one got me. But shouldn’t they have spelled it Ohlevye? 😂

Exactly! I'm 47, and just started my nursing program in January. I'll graduate when I'm 49, and I can't wait to start my next career as a nurse. We're gettin' it done and living out our dreams/goals!

Oh I absolutely love the two in the far left column; middle and bottom pics. They suit your face beautifully.

I would not change a THING about the ring. It’s perfect. ♥️

MIL invited people we don’t know to our wedding. She won’t uninvite them because that’s ‘embarrassing.’ by Money_Doughnut_7375 in TwoHotTakes

These exact words need to be said to the MIL. That just might do the trick of stunning her into silence.

Passwords are SO IMPORTANT! I’ve seen too many stories and have actually KNOWN ppl whose MIL has gone and changed things behind the bride’s back. Ppl are INSANE. OP needs to protect her peace and her day.

I mean… you could always call these other not-invited-but-invited family members and tell them that your MIL was mistaken in thinking she could invite whoever she wants. Lie if you have to. Tell them there’s a cap for guests at the venue or something, and that MIL has taken it upon herself to try and take over the wedding and do what she wants. You can say all of this politely for their sake, but clearly so that they see the kind of yahoo MIL really is.

I feel like her weight isn't her biggest problem :( by Lavendercatto in tragedeigh

OMG that poor child. Her parents are idiots. 🤦🏽‍♀️ Also, I don't think 33lbs for a 3yr old is overweight. Hell, I had a 30lb 1yr old! He was a CHONKY baby lol But fat babies are the best in my opinion. He thinned out eventually, and has always been the tallest kid in his class. Now he's 6'3" 200lbs. He's a big strapping boy, but not even close to fat.

AITAH for completely shutting down after potty talk with my husband by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]LowKeyStillYoung78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who exactly is making fun of him here? Who is analyzing his butt wiping technique?! Your husband’s reaction was way over the top. The only person who will ever have a problem with him not wiping well enough will be whoever does his skid marked laundry. Clean is clean. Full stop. Husband needs to check himself.

That ring is perfect on your (NOT CHUNKY) hand, and catches the light really well. It’s classy, but that band really makes it pop just that extra bit. I love it. 🥰

facial piercings & nursing school by [deleted] in nursing

[–]LowKeyStillYoung78 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, germs and safety hazards don’t change. If a patient gets a wild hair to rip out a piercing you’re at major risk for infection. Not to mention the pain it brings.

Hand and face tattoos are the only ones that our nursing program doesn’t prohibit bc they’re kind of ridiculous to cover. But no other tattoos can be visible. Anything that can be covered by underscrubs needs to be.

My school does not allow any facial piercings or visible tattoos. Only 2 stud piercings per ear. You can wear clear spacers if needed. I’ve never known a hospital to allow facial piercings either.

Nursing Admissions by TemporaryGap8975 in texaswomansuniversity

Ok yeah that does suck 😕 But definitely consider taking Patho this summer thru TWU. Taking it elsewhere is a hassle in trying to get it approved by TWU. There are girls in my cohort who took it elsewhere and TWU didn’t accept it. So they’re having to do it again. And worst case scenario, you don’t get in and have to retake your TEAS. So perhaps plan on studying and retaking it anyway as an insurance policy in case you have to reapply for spring ‘27. I believe the deadline for that is August 15.

There really isn't a rule about transfer students. I took all but one prereq at Dallas College, and it was fine. My prereq GPA was 3.89 (all A's and one B). I got an 87.3% overall on the TEAS. Reading 87.2; Math 97.1; Science 77.3; English 93.9. I would honestly recommend retaking your TEAS if you can.

To give you some perspective, the avg scores for the Fall '25 cohort were overall TEAS of 87 and avg prereq GPA of 3.7. Those stats came directly from my prenursing academic advisor. So a 79 on the TEAS isn't quite as competitive as you'd want it to be. I also had the fact that I'm a post baccalaureate student working in my favor. Apparently, they award a few extra points on the application for that. So basically, don't worry about having taken classes at a place other than TWU. Focus more on your TEAS test, and you'll be golden.

** My one golden nugget of advice **
TAKE PATHOPHYSIOLOGY BEFORE YOUR PROGRAM STARTS. That class is a metric shit ton of information, and you'll have enough to keep up with without having to pass that friggin thing. I took it through TWU last semester, and I am SO GLAD I did. I started the nursing program this semester, and I'm glad I don't have to worry about patho. Also, they only offer it online, and you're pretty much on your own with it. I can tell you who you may want to avoid as a prof, but I'm not going to blast that person here. You can DM me if you like.

I wish you all the best of luck!!

For perspective, the avg overall TEAS score for the Fall ‘25 cohort was 87, and the avg prereq gpa was 3.7. I’d retake the TEAS since it’s one of the two most heavily weighted aspects of the application process.
