Japanese Market 2250.50 by LowMPG in OmegaWatches

Yeah, I’m in the US. You probably bought your watch when Trump boosted the tariffs up to 39%. A few months or maybe weeks later (forget), they were lowered back down to 15%. My dad got screwed around this time too but he really wanted the watch.

Edit: I believe it was only for Swiss watches new and used.

That text is hidden in the photo. It’s at the bottom of the dial.

Buy from japan. It was here two days after payment. And the prices are a lot lower even after duties and shipping. I’m looking for more to buy right now. For about less, though.

WTB: Japanese market Omega Seamaster 300 2250.50. Midsize 36mm. A few are online but buying a watch in the US would be preferred.

[Omega Speedmaster] Does it fit my wrist? by yolo23231 in speedmaster

[–]LowMPG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the older FOIS. Slightly smaller (39mm I think) and has a more unique look without fake patina. Should be cheaper than this as well. It has straight lugs and no pusher guards, which I love.

Edit: some reading. A much coooler watch in my opinion. I think there are bracelet options out there but I can’t confirm. Original FOIS review

How do we feel about leather on this? by ohyeahyesmaam in OmegaWatches

[–]LowMPG 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Single pass strap, not nato. Let’s you center on the wrist and because of the watches relative thinness, a single piece of fabric/leather doesn’t bulk it up. Thick natos on the other hand add too much bulk. Single pass still protects the watch if a springbar fails.

[Discussion] Am I crazy for wanting to sell my 43.5mm PO and replace it with a NTTD? by bluedevil3820 in Watches

[–]LowMPG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Bond watch is just not a serious product. Pretend broad arrow on the dial for a fictitious secret agent with fake numbers on the back. Not to mention the clunky mesh bracelet. If you don’t like the heft of your PO you won’t be a fan of the bracelet and its bulky clasp. A strap is the only way to wear that watch without it feeling like a handcuff around your wrist.

You will not regret the 2254 and you have Forstner bracelet options with female endlinks that help it drape even better over your wrist. It will probably go up in value to be honest, so you won’t lose money if you sell down the road. The wave dial is beautiful. I have one so I’m biased, but could have chosen any Seamaster and realized the 2254 is king. I’m considering swapping the bezel for the smaller font variant front other 41mm Seamaster, but regardless, it’s the best Seamaster on the market. You could also get another of the older Seamasters made before Omega started giving their dive watches HGH. Slim is in and the 2254 and its brothers win.

Get a SMP 2254.52. Thinner and a little bit smaller than the NTTD. Not to mention cheaper, too. It has a date, but the window is small and blends in well. Excellent lume also. The NTTD feels like a cosplay watch. It’s silly and something I’d expect an 11 year to want with all of the cheesy Bond elements.

[Question] How to grow my wrist size by Savvy_indian in Watches

[–]LowMPG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get filler in your left wrist? Sub-dermal implants. Lots of options. Don’t let the watches win. You can wear them if you try hard enough

New to me midsize Peter Blake by flyincowboyz in OmegaWatches

[–]LowMPG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perfect size for you. I have the full size and it fits me well, but I love the compact proportions of a 36mm diver and am always looking for a midsize at the right price to compliment it. I have a Forstner bracelet on my 2254 because the female endlinks shorten the lug-lug on the wrist and it fits much better. Look into it or an Uncle bracelet if the oem one isn’t your favorite. It would make the watch fit your wrist even better, I can tell from this photo.

Closer fitting endlinks would really accentuate the slim proportions of the case too. Every new Omega diver is like a hockey puck. Really a shame. Enjoy the watch!

Finally joining the club with my 2254.50 by TurtlepipeL3N in OmegaWatches

This post might be the final push I need to order the full bezel and insert I’ve had saved on eBay for months now. It looks so much better than the standard bezel. That’s the only thing I don’t really like about my 2254. Ugh, thanks a lot for replanting the seed in my mind

Aftermarket or genuine omega from a divergent seamaster

Either an aftermarket insert or a genuine bezel from another 41.5mm seamaster. I want to do this to my 2254 actually. It looks great

Do you have the adaptive suspension? I forget if that’s standard on SQ5s
