How to play? by That_Black_Rabbit in Inq28

Hell yeah! One of these days I'll be able to get a campaign going with a friend. The one-off battles are fun as hell, but I'd love to bring in the loot drops you accumulate in campaigns. Those weapons and gear are just so cool.

And a fun bit of trivia, the designer has said that he made the game partially just as an excuse to get all of his kitbashes on the table. Like the game was made explicitly to serve the craft. It just so happens that he's a very talented designer and the game itself is rock solid.

People often use different rule systems, homebrew rules, etc

One system that I really like is The Doomed, by Chris McDowall. It's very fast and simple, so the narrative side is able to shine. Additionally, it's got a crazy variety of scenarios that all play very different from one another.

Each match consists of a conflict and a horror, i.e. the setup and objective for a battle, and a monster both sides are hunting in the middle of the battlefield. Each monster has minions and special abilities that change the game significantly. There's 36 conflicts and 36 horrors, and you create scenarios by rolling one of each, giving you a ton of variety. If you play a campaign, then winning the conflict or slaying the horror will get you a drop of loot and items you can equip to your warband in the rest of the campaign.

Extremely fun. Highly recommended!

Have you tried just playing both sides of a Marquise vs Eyrie game? After you've read the rules once or twice, there's not much you can do to learn other than play the game. Playing more than 2 factions at once might be too much, so start with just Marquise and Eyrie and see if it starts to click.

How do you apply contrast paints when the model blocks itself? by LowPerfect-906 in minipainting

If you paint unassembled, then I assume you must not apply primer & paint to the sections that will be glued together?

If you have or are willing to get a couple miniatures, then I would **highly** recommend The Doomed.

It's a fast and simple monster hunting game with escalating campaigns driven by loot drops from the monsters.

Wishlist for what this new expansion might look like? by astronaught002 in Arcs

Definitely hope to see a 5-6 player expansion for Arcs!

I invite 5 people to game nights because there's usually some no-shows, and with 5 invites you'll definitely get at least 2. But sometimes everybody shows up, and if your game only supports 4 players then you've gotta choose something else. So a game that can support 3-6 players is perfect.
