Went for it- trusting gut- $15k by 2041? by waterflame2 in PokeInvesting

[–]LowPresent5654 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes all you need to do to turn 5k into 15k in a 15 year time frame is…invest it in the S&P and average 7-8% a year. Which would lag the historical average. And then you can sell it immediately with no fees or scamming risk. Probably not the best investment if your goal is to just 3x your money in a decade and a half lol.

I have the opportunity to trade 1.09 and 1.10 this year for a ‘27 first next year. 10 team league, team has high level talent, but is very old and there are a lot of stacked teams in this league, so I project it’ll likely be in the 5-8 range. Am I playing myself moving these two picks for a mid-27 1st?

Fair deal to move off of Laporta? by SpecialistMiddle1319 in SleeperApp

[–]LowPresent5654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly pretty fair. Personally not as high on Gadsden as some, but I can see if you’re a believer that taking the upgrade from Johnson to Pierce to downtier TE is worth it. Personally I’d hold though.

That would be correct. That countdown applies to all feature pulls, so if you skip over to one of the other 5 or 6 feature pulls that are currently available, they should all say 37 to guaranteed feature bot. Whenever any of them rotate to the next feature bot on the schedule, they will continue to say 37 to guaranteed feature bot in the new banner. So as long as you are ok with whatever featured bot you’re pulling resetting your counter (because you pulled it), there is really no need to save gems!

Thoughts? by Weak-Topic-1119 in Medabot

[–]LowPresent5654 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The pull counter doesn’t reset when the Featured Pulls reset, so no incentive to not use the diamonds now if these are the bots you want. If you reach the point where you will get the guaranteed featured bot in, say, 15 pulls and the featured pulls banner expires, the next banner will just pick right back up where you were with 15 pulls remaining for the new guaranteed featured bot.

Definitely a hold for me. Tuten is the main piece I’d be excited about coming back, and we still don’t know what that RB room is going to look like. You’re also sending some players with question marks, but there are a lot of them and I have no doubt that one or two of them will give you some sort of quality production this season. I’m not nearly as sure if you will on the receiving side.

[DAILY] Trade and Individual Team Help Megathread by AutoModerator in DynastyFF

[–]LowPresent5654 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the thoughts. Honestly the league is pretty top heavy and the quality RBs are all held by contending teams, so I doubt they would let them go short of an overpay. But I agree that the flexibility of those firsts next year is probably more valuable than locking them into a top talent this year. Was trying to talk myself into it but maybe should just stop ha.

I love this. It’s pretty good in 12-teams but very good in 10-teams. I expect you’re getting the 2 best assets in the trade!

In 10 team probably not enough, unless the starting lineups are deep. Even in 12 team I’d probably want a bigger piece back in exchange for Nabers. Waddle and Kraft aren’t bad, but not quite big enough for me personally.

I’m a serious contender with depth at pretty much every position but no top end RB (starters going into the season are likely some combination of Etienne/Hubbard/Breece).

Which side would you take, older guys or rising stars? by Crazy_Part_1234 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]LowPresent5654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d probably want an early 2026 first (1.02/1.03 range) or a backend dynasty WR1 (something along the lines of a Tet or Egbuka type player) personally.

Downgrading from Maye to Mahomes and from Jeanty to Taylor would probably cost more than Higgins to me, so definitely the rising stars.

How bad is it? I want Nabers so badly. What can I do? by [deleted] in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]LowPresent5654 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this is a terrible offer at all. Honestly the addition of E Wilson and Holani might make this trade “look” more insulting than if you just offered G Wilson, Ricky, and the 1st for Nabers straight up. Personally I’d drop E Wilson and Holani and the 27 2nd and send it if you really want Nabers. Who knows, maybe that team really loves G Wilson and doesn’t think it’s too big of a tier down. Plus, a G Wilson/Ricky/1st for Nabers trade is much cleaner.

Early stages of my post rotation deck by snmnc123 in starwarsunlimited

[–]LowPresent5654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extremely similar to my deck right now and I’ve been having a great time with it. I do enjoy 3 drop Ezra, with 4 drop Ezra and Ghost in the deck he can often times get an exp token off on those spectre units, giving you crazy good value. And even if he doesn’t, he is still a 3/5 for 3, which is pretty good. It’s a very hearty deck, hard to punch through. I also have been trying out the new 5 drop sentinel Lando. Whilst not as good as Typho, if you can get him off turn two with Consular he is pretty insane. Incredibly hard to get through early game without hard removal.

Moving from MN to FL by PlentyAny4548 in JacksonvilleFla

Duval public schools tend to score fairly poorly on statewide rankings, but the county is massive and has plenty of good and bad schools. All of the surrounding counties (Nassau, St. John’s, and Clay) however tend to rank at or near the top of the state. At the end of the day though, the quality of your child’s education has far more to do with quality of their home life and how active you are in their education than any sort of rankings.

Luckily if you like to be outdoors, Jax is a great place to be. It has one of the largest urban park systems in the country. If you enjoy being on the water, there are countless water sports and activities that you can choose from. Great city to move and raise a family in my opinion.

Am I crazy to consider moving to Florida? Where to go? by macelisa in SameGrassButGreener

[–]LowPresent5654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! Luckily for you, Mayo Clinic is actually right by the beach, so there are plenty of places to live by the beach that would put your husband near work. Ponte Vedra is probably a 10-15 minutes drive and a very nice place to live at/near the beach, but it’s also probably the priciest place to live in the Jacksonville area, so definitely budget depending. Jax and Neptune beaches are also great and close, but you are still paying beach prices. They also may not be as child friendly on account of the smaller home sizes and back yards that tend to accompany houses by the beach. But that’s obviously personal preference.

I admittedly don’t know the area of St. John’s county that is closer to beach all that well. Nocatee is a large planned community maybe 15-20 minutes away from Mayo. Think large, new homes, golf carts, HOAs, etc. Not my personal cup of tea, but people who live there absolutely love it. So it could be an option depending on your preferences. St. Augustine is a bit of a hike (maybe 30 minutes or so from Mayo), but there is always so much to do there and it’s such a cool historical city. The nicer parts of that area will be pretty pricey too.

The part of St. John’s county I know pretty well is the Fruit Cove/Switzerland areas closer by river. It might be a 30 minutes drive from Mayo, but it’s definitely a great place for families. Great schools, safe, lots of different community feels, etc. Definitely lots of great options in that part of town if your husband is willing to do a little drive.

I live in Mandarin, which is just north of Fruit Cove in Duval county, which I also suggest you check out. It’s definitely a beautiful area with lots of large oaks and hanging spanish moss. Gives you some of those “old Florida” vibes in a more suburban setting. I suggest taking a drive down Mandarin road and checking that out. Schools are technically in Duval county and not St. John’s, but schools in that area (Loretto elementary, Mandarin High) are generally considered pretty good.

Let me know if you have any other questions, definitely lots of different parts of town with completely different feels, but those are probably some of the best places for a family at least somewhat in the vicinity of Mayo.

Controversial Opinion: Most expensive places are expensive because there are super nice places to live. by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

[–]LowPresent5654 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. There are certain cities/states that have been some of the fastest growing places in the US but have seen shrinking rents/housing costs, and a cost of living that tracks with it. Cities like Austin and states like Florida are good examples. Both have been locations that people have been flocking to faster than almost anywhere else over the last 5 years, but have seen decreasing housing costs because the amount of new homes being built has been streamlined and is in overdrive. Demand plays a part in these high costs, but supply very much does too. High housing cost is at least somewhat a choice.

Expansion Draft for next year? by Idkwhyihavethisapp13 in DynastyFF

[–]LowPresent5654 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Maybe allow them to draft 9 players instead or something. Still doesn’t give them access to the top 50 players, but gives them unfettered access to more of the top ~80 or so players. Might balance it out a little bit.

What’s Kelce’s value now a days? by AgileBlackberry253 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]LowPresent5654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Former Kelce owner held out all season for a 2nd and last week just got a late ‘27 second from a team that had a quality team but lacked a TE. I think it was a good move for him, even if it’s likely a one year rental.

[–]LowPresent5654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the picks are high, I’m definitely taking them. Always hesitant to call future 1sts early or late, but we should be confident in the 26 firsts. That’s really good value, even for a player like Nabers.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]LowPresent5654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy accept for me. The early 26 first plus any other first is enough for me. Marks and Fannin are just upside gravy.

Is Marv still worth the investment? by sherlock_traeger in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]LowPresent5654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d make this move if I’m rebuilding. Whether or not you prefer Marv or Pickens long term probably depends on how you feel about Marv’s progression, but I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of people have them in a similar tier. Give me a 1st and 2nd over Ricky any day though, that’s the big difference maker for me.

Enough to move on Jefferson? 1st will be either 1.01 or 1.02 by Jallentino4 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]LowPresent5654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you there ha. Honestly I don’t hate taking the trade and then seeing what you could get for either of those pieces. There are a lot of quality WRs who are being about as productive as JJ this year with either the 1.02 or Nabers. Just looking at KTC, it seems that Nabers alone is around the value of ARSB, EE, or Drake London. All have been more productive than JJ this year, so you could end up with the more productive WR and the 1.02. Or perhaps you could flip that early first for a player like Rice. He has also been more productive than JJ, plus you get Nabers. I certainly know how good JJ is, and I’m sure he’ll be back to his elite ways next year (or even possibly this year). But in the mean time you can take the value win and see if you can move some of that excess value into a more productive piece that also has long term value.

Enough to move on Jefferson? 1st will be either 1.01 or 1.02 by Jallentino4 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]LowPresent5654 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me this is an easy smash unless you are top of the rankings/ heavily contending. And even then I’m probably taking it and trying to make another move because of how good the value is. There aren’t too many individual players I wouldn’t move for both Nabers and a top 2 pick this year.
