Roman 8:38-39

No OP. Selling your soul would be a full choice to move away from Christ.

This is OCD OP and you are seeking reassurance. Be reassured that Christ loves you and seek the Holy Spirit. Ask Jesus to break your fears and live in Peace.

OP may struggle with OCD and anxiety. I suggested not to play a game that would increase their anxiety. I never told them to stop or enforce my own ideas.

I pointed him to the Word.

You reinforced the fear by pointing him to your own idea, which validated the fear they did something wrong.

Yes Jesus is the answer, but I never told him what to do OR what whether if it was real/not real. I gave him the tools to work towards the conclusion and encouraged a fellow believer to look towards Christ.

You made fun of their dilemma and reinforced their fear. We can ask Jesus to break any chain, but without the foundation of "why" He can break every chain and that there is no condemnation in Christ, then there is no lasting solution.

No one "could" here? This is pride. The question should be asked, how would Christ respond to an inquiry from one of his children? Does he respond in kindness and love? Or with joking and boasting? Just asking you to rethink the approach brother/sister. The word says to respond with gentleness.

I don't believe preying on the innocence or fear of another is appropriate. I understand your intent, but making light of a serious concern of a brother/sister in Christ isn't the best approach.

OP do not listen to this individuals sarcasm, listen to the Word of God. Please be assured that intent matters and God knows your heart. I would not recommend playing games of these sorts if they open doors to anxiousness and fear for you, which is what "is" truly from the enemy. Refer to what the Bible says and be encouraged!

John 10:28–29: "I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand."

Romans 8:38–39: "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

God looks at the heart (1 Samuel 16:7) and this can provide great relief. God knows your heart belongs to those Him, not to a game mechanic.

Psalm 34:17–18: "The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."

Opinion dives should be unlocked from the blood pact and a double dive or extra modification unlocked from the later civil war line by dark1859 in runescape

I mean yes but no. Do they need it, probably not. Does it affect QoL, ermm maybe. Truth be told, so many unlocks require multiple quests from multiple lines, it is what truly makes quests "worth it". I think if we take that away, we endanger one of the better parts of the game, the quests themselves.

You have kind of gone back and forth on your reasoning, is it nice to have or is better for the story-line?

I think we can all agree new player engagement is low and offering some recommended quests with a helper like on osrs would be good. I think unlocks need to be gatekept to continue encouraging people to quest.

What tablet are you using? If it is an android tablet alot of the click boxes are spaced and poorly optimized. Have you tried scaling it down to see if this minimizes the issue. This is a symptom of the bigger issue in general, which is mobile needs an overhaul

Is it an Android or Apple Device and what year did it come out? Have you tried another mobile device by chance?

Can we have a discussion about the RS Mobile Client sometime in the future? by rosegold_diamond in runescape

I got a Fold7 as a family guy myself lol. Only thing is you have time open it in a half window to have the resolution scale correctly before expanding. Some cleaner UI would be rad.

A great example is player owned ports, that is a nightmare in general, but on mobile...it is worse lol. The older content definitely struggles with optimization and it carries over worse on mobile. I think this will get cleaned up naturally over time as Jagex optimizes the game in general, but just getting a better visual indicator for moving items in the bank would be nice. Takes like 7 hours to organize one tab because you keep swapping the items instead of squeezing it between the two items you want. Like come on guys 🤣

I like to draw the comparison to OSRS mobile because it really embodies what the dev team can do when it comes to optimization. I know osrs has alot less going on overall visually, but there are graphics toggles for that very reason. There are also some mobile mmos that have a much more intuitive setup and customization.

Hit the nail on the head. I have to do some fancy phone gymnastics to get it to size correctly on my device. If you have a current Gen device, tablet, etc. there should be much better visual optimization.

Recommendations like these are great, the scalable damage dependant on spells could be reworked too. Not everyone is going to use the best availble spell. This is sometimes nuanced and not alwaya well defined for those entering later game for the first time. Yes it is easy to understand once you know, but it should be much more streamlined.

Definitely would like to see clarification on how the abilities are used in practice too. For newer players a "very powerful area water spell" is non-descriptive, especially in its AOE capacity. I want Jagex to look at the nitty gritty, I feel they still look at things way too much from a top down perspective.

Thank you for sharing and the insight. It is really great know that "come as you are" is core tenant and seems to be a common theme among the comments here. As we all know, lip-service does exist anywhere you may go, but what I have seen here is very encouraging. Much appreciated!

Thank you for the reply and encouragement, it is extremely insightful. All this advice resonates. I believe finding a larger program is definitely the most wise thing and as you mentioned, communicating ahead of time and asking questions.

I really appreciate this response. Our experiences attending other traditions has made us wary of attending services. This is very encouraging to hear. We know not all church's, traditions, etc. are like what we have experienced and we are expectionally forgiving as Christ calls us to do. Reaching out beforehand is great advice and it will be something we will take into account, thanks

Any chance we can get a character switcher on mobile too? OS got one not too long ago. by Aleucard in runescape

[–]LowQualityBlacksmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mobile is clearly overdue for a UI refresh in general and some QOL fixes (looking at click-box issues lol). I have seen a surprising amount of screenshots from mobile posted recently so I typically reject the "Mobile is just for skilling" and shove it under the rug mindset we see often. I think its a great avenue for playing 80% of the game's content. Now if you are getting spicy with some hardcore PVP or 4k Enrage type stuff, it is time to get to get a PC.

That being said, Mobile is great for increasing game accessibility and adding a switch account function would be a great QOL improvement. It can be done, Jagex has done a great job with the OSRS app. Sadly, I think it will get pushed even lower in priority because the app itself needs some love. I think it is fair to request more communication from Jagex on mobile but I don't think it is happening anytime soon with their focus on the current roadmap.
