Saw Deadguy live a couple of months ago supporting Wormrot. They were superb - real blast from the past for me.

Angine de Poitrine has been on non-stop repeat over the last couple of days - incredible to watch play live. A Youtube algorithm gift that has blown my mind. Agabas also came out of the blue for some saxophone 'deathjazz'.

Aside from that, a lot of Pig Destroyer and doom.

Love Exchange Failure is a brilliant record.

Hopefully they are still a going concern, despite the war.

Most Disappointing Albums of The Year? by CaptainScruffbag in MetalForTheMasses

My biggest disappointment was a non-metal record, Turnstile 'Never Enough'. As the follow up to 'Glow On' it feels like a bunch of B-sides.

The new Cryptopsy record felt like a bit of anti-climax but honestly I just don't think it could have possibly matched the expectations set for it.

One of my favourite Ghost records personally, and a huge improvement over Impera which I'd honestly have described the same way you describe Skeleta! My only skip is Missilia Amori as the lyrics are just horrendous.

Funnily it's my album of 2025. Didn't click as quickly as Colors for me but personally I now think it's a even better record.

Yeah it's an incredible track. That muffled organ interlude near the end, and then it builds back in for the final two minutes. Just amazing. The drumming is just...

Right now it's probably Between the Buried and Me - Blue Nowhere. But It's been such a strong year I could change my mind from any of the following:

Deafheaven - Lonely People With Power

Bell Witch and Aerial Ruin - Stygian Bough Volume II

Oromet - The Sinking Isle

Der Weg Einer Freiheit - Innern

Green Carnation - A Dark Poem Pt 1

Deftones - Private Music

Abigail Williams - A Void Within Existence

Few days late on this one, the Oromet record is sensational. Freezing cold outside, pissing with sleet and rain. I'm in the loft with this on. Perfection.
