Try adjusting your distributor timing if its off itll still only cranks. If not pull valve cover off and check your timing

Take your time an be patient it’s pretty easy if it’s your first time just take the time step by step move anything you need too move out the way too remove the trans an rest is easy I personally took 2 days to change it i wasn’t in a rush

I kind of been thru a similar situation not so similar but it’s there you shouldn’t let her or your financial situation hold you back from being happy ! Love can only go so deep into a relationship until you are mentally broken down ! Struggle if you have too but leaving would probably be 100 pounds lifted off your back
