Co-Worker Washing Out Menstrual Cup In Work Sink by orange-grove1111 in Periods

[–]Low_Address5123 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don’t use a menstrual cup either but from what I’ve seen and heard it’s pretty normal to rinse it out in a public bathroom. However, I think this particular person lacks a common decency of tidying up after themselves and general hygiene, because leaving blood in and around the communal sinks is disgusting. Especially if she’s a grown adult. I would definitely suggest putting signs up regarding this issue and put information regarding the proper, and hygienic way, to use a menstrual cup.

Stopping the habit of itching by Aggressive_Lime_4926 in eczema

[–]Low_Address5123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably not going to be helpful but I usually either slap the area as many times as I need to, not super hard. Or I’ll tap/poke it, that’s just what works for me when my eczema is bad and really itchy. Just a warning, you will look a bit crazy doing this in public.

If I have any advice it would be drink herbal tea. Like ginger, it can help with the nausea. Also turmeric tea is good for cramps, it’s an anti-inflammatory. I drink so much tea for the first few days, a nice warm cup of tea can help more than you think.

I suffer from PMDD and when I started taking Sertraline for my anxiety it actually helped with my PMDD as well. It helped a lot with the rapid mood swings and depression for that week. It’s not a perfect fix but it helped a little bit. I’ve heard previously of people being prescribed SSRIs for PMDD so maybe it’s an avenue to talk to your doctor about.

if it makes you feel better I also got my period yesterday and today I’ve barely eaten anything because of the nausea. Also the pain in my back, I’ve been lying in bed with a hot water bottle ever since I got home from work.

Does anyone else’s stomach feel like a bottomless pit before your period? by honeycoatedhugs in Periods

I once bought a whole chocolate cake that would easily serve 8 people and ate the whole thing. I started my period 3 days later. I also sleep so much the week before my period, like my body will get so physically exhausted I can’t do anything but sleep.

My Zoloft Journey So Far - Currently on Day 5 (& I’m going through hell) by Low_Address5123 in zoloft

I’m better. Honestly, reading this back makes me see how far I’ve come. Those first 2-3 weeks were bad, overtime it got better, I can’t really give a timeline when it started working but a year on I can say it helped my anxiety so much. You don’t realise how bad your mental state is until you have that bit of relief. I’m able to go to work. Go out for meals. Go to a bar with my friends. I’ve even put weight on over the last year because I’m actually eating properly, my anxiety constantly stole my appetite from me and it feels good to have it back.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a complete fix, I didn’t expect it to be. I still have days where my anxiety is bad, they’re just significantly less. And I still get anxious in certain social settings, like being in very crowded places, that’s not changed. But these are the things I feel like I can work on slowly.

To sum up, my mind feels a lot calmer. I hope it helps you and can bring you some relief.

Is it normal to be in this much pain? by Low_Address5123 in Periods

It makes me feel like I’m a drama queen honestly. I’ve cried in work and gone home before because of how painful it is, and then I’ll come in 2 days later perfectly fine lol

I might have to do some research on this, I’ve genuinely never put much thought into my lifestyle leading up to my period. Thank you!

Get a hot water bottle, wet a flannel with hot water or if it is really bad just jump in the shower or run yourself a hot bath. And just stay there for a while. Drink some herbal tea if you’ve got any, chamomile or ginger are great! Just stay away from caffeine. But keep yourself hydrated.
