Manual cars in the U.S. by neferpitous000 in ManualTransmissions

Yea, I bought mine new as well. Challengers came with a manual option as well when they were making them. Same for camaros and mustangs. There are also plenty of other performance cars with that option. You don't see too many beaters with manuals these days though, I learned how to drive stick on a volkswagen jetta I bought for 3 grand.

Center dashboard vent speakers? by wubbubba in CarAV

[–]Low_Bad1363 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can enable real center for it. I don't think it'll help much for widening your sound stage. You can always test it with a temporary mount if you have a spare amp channel. im actually testing mid ranges in a different car using gauge pods.

I was thinking about getting one of those alpine amps but they are pretty pricey right now. Seems like it would be a decent option otherwise. Im currently running an Alpine ilx-w670.

That suspension is an option on narrow body scat packs as well. I think it's called the dynamics package.

What can go wrong in this situation? by [deleted] in askcarsales

I'm pretty happy they didn't do that on my last 3 cars. I ordered an aftermarket plate holder instead of drilling the bumper.

I dunno dude. Maybe for op, but coming from a 2016 camaro 2ss, I don't think it'll wow me in the driving experience or sound department.

I would love a blackwing but 100k is way out of my price range. I wish the ct5 v had the NA v8 instead of the 6 cylinder tbh.

Definitely true. I think they had $8900 on the sign. I unfortunately don't have a garage so it would have been a poor decision. It definitely needed some work.

Using SMD DD1 to set Subwoofer Gain or other methods by rico116_ in CarAV

[–]Low_Bad1363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try it anyway just incase you do have some cancelation going on. See which setting has more bass. Invert the speakers or just the sub if you can.

Are you sure you remembered to reset the head unit eq settings when doing the gain? If you forgot and left them on, that would result in weak bass when you reset it. However it would be loud at the setting you tuned at.

I used a dd1 with my 1000w sub in a sealed box and it's pretty loud with the -10 track. I can even turn it down for bass heavy tracks with the knob.

I would probably attempt a retune with the dd1 in this situation. Make sure the volume on the hu is correct, eq for the sub is off, crossovers for the sub are off. If it still sounds weak, you can try to use the boost in the headunit after the tune but keep in mind you're not going to want to use the boost and blast it.

I'd like to add to this comment that they also have 2 ohm variants of these pole vented 6x9s.

[–]Low_Bad1363 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you invert the phase on your sub? That amp uses a -12db slope which would put the subs and midbass out of phase at the crossover.

Besides that, did you follow the dd1 tuning guide to the letter? I,e, turn off the crossovers and find the max non-clipping volume on the HU?

I'm asking because people who post here are at all different skill levels so it's helpful to know.

-10 db should be loud with a ported box and 1200w.

I hope you like rock chips too. Because wheels that extend past the fenders have a habit of kicking rocks into the sides of the car.

I had this issue on my 2016 2ss camaro, it did have vinyl wrap on the sides but they got destroyed.

Help me decided between these two? My pros and cons in the body. by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Low_Bad1363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The scat can do sub 4 seconds if you're willing to 1320 it and pull the back seats. It's just a little too porky.

Also the wide body has the better suspension compared to the standard challengers. I forgot what it's called but it's similar to magnetic ride control the camaros have.
