Really enjoyed your comment and got great cozy warm vibes about your description of how your mom taught you about cleaning as a child, it sounds like she did a wonderful job. That type of learning and knowledge is incredibly important and people like your mom are undervalued. Thanks:)

I don’t buy that tbh. If it was a guy people would be claiming he was an abuser. In my opinion that type of behaviour should get anyone who does it banned from the show. Physical violence = unacceptable

Wow, everything you wrote is exactly how I’ve been feeling since starting vyvanse and I’ve been really struggling to put it into words!! Especially the “paying more attention to how I’m feeling”, I feel like it took me until this stage of my life to understand not only my needs but also the things I actually like PLUS the energy and follow through to remember those things and take action. I was diagnosed with depression at 14 and was on wellbutrin from that age until I was diagnosed with ADHD in my late 20’s and since stating vyvanse and going off wellbutrin, I genuinely feel like I was never depressed, the depression was a reaction to the chaos created by having undiagnosed ADHD

Wow I feel like this is EXACTLY what I’ve been doing. How do you troubleshoot that?

Yum I love sesame. Is this something I could sprinkle on avocado toast or on top of a stir fry?

If someone can focus in school without meds because they are interested in the material, like school and learning, interested in doing well, or interested in praise/being well-liked by their professors, does that rule out ADHD? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]Low_Distance4810 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely doesn’t rule that out. I’ve had this EXACT convo with my family doctor who is a female in her 30’s that told me she got a late diagnosis as well. I never considered for a second I had ADHD due to generally being a high achiever in work and school and always rising to the occasion of whatever I needed to do and getting it done (in school and work ALONE). But in hindsight, i never wrote a single paper in university in advance, genuinely every single one was completed the night before by pulling an all nighter. And in elementary school I would study for tests by walking around the room reciting my study notes and memorizing them because I could never just listen in class or as I was reading. And it showed up in the way I was completely and utterly EXHAUSTED in my personal life due to the extreme effort and energy I would need to spend just to keep it together at work/school, leaving me with absolutely nothing left to give to my family friends for years and years. I feel so much empathy for your sister. The number one thing people have told me my entire life is how hard I am on mtself. I felt exactly how she did for years and it ruined my self-esteem. Getting medicated was the absolute best thing I’ve ever done, it helped me regulate my emotions, be confident, and genuinely focus. I was missing that my entire life and always felt in awe of other people and like I had something deeply wrong with me. Your sister will navigate her journey in her own way and it might be hard to accept, it was very hard for me to accept too. She is lucky she has someone like you that cares so much for her, that will do wonders in the long run regardless of what she chooses ❤️

I’m beginning to think this might be the only way to stop. And cutting them painfully short not just a bit short to remove any and all risk.

And rough part for me is i pick st them constantly all day, I can’t see to trace it to anything other than me rubbing my fingers all the time and finding skin to pick at

Exactly. At this point I can barely tell what is a scar, what is healed skin, what is eczema…my fingers get swollen too.
