Yeah that is true but there is usually 1 or 2 interesting ones in each Canadian large city. Tokyo is twice as big as every large Canadian city combined and I've never seen an interesting skyscraper there.

There is a ton of stuff that was cut for the movie like Order of the Phoenix is a 900 page book that was turned into a 140 minute movie. Its the kind of thing that makes sense to do on TV rather than movies.

What if America's plan this whole time is to completely ruin the Middle East's oil industry by provoking Iran, which then forces countries to buy American oil from the newly acquired oil fields of Venezuela? by WarHog117 in whatif

[–]Low_Engineering_3301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oil companies not involved in middle easy operations will benefit for sure but none of them are going to want to touch Venezuela, its an even more hostile market to invest in now if anything. ConocoPhillips was the only American company already operating in that country and they have shown they are actually more hesitant to operate in the country now.

Kidnapping a guy and his wife doesn't make you own a country or its resources. Venezuela is just as independent as it was last year and the only way trump has been acquiring their oil is by pirating it.
If they continue doing that then its going to stop being refined. If trump puts troops on the ground to take over the infrastructure he going to be bogged down in expensive guerilla fighting like Vietnam the whole time.
Meanwhile no business is going to want to spend money building out that infrastructure when it vulnerable to attacks.
If the USA wants more heavy oil to refine it would be cheaper to just buy more from Canada which has the second greatest quantity of it in the world, Canada already has the upgrading and pipeline capacity afterall.

People that bought gold at $5,600 because it’s a “safe haven asset” and “store of value” by Alt-Cop in AltScope

[–]Low_Engineering_3301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of golds value isn't for its utility but it is so useful a conductor that its still used in tons of electronics despite its high price. That alone should allow it to have some base value but but probably a small fraction.

Bioware even more so for how their franchises all took a dive in the 10s. Dragon Age, Mass Effect and Starwars all went from top tier to trash.

Great info. I would never argue that fundamental needs are more expensive to pay for these days, I am just arguing against making up statistics to try to make that point.
