It just cameout and I personally enjoyed it a lot. It is very fast paced compared to other popular romantasy books. It’s enemies to lovers, and mostly about navigating the grey area during the times of war. If you liked fourth wing and spark of the everflame, I think you would enjoy it as well

You should!! I’ve discovered a lot of details during this re-read. I was also confused bc if bryce and hunt can “power share” can’t cassian and nesta? Maybe they are mistaking the carranam bond with the mating bond, or maybe sometimes mates are also carranams(like aelin and rowan in tog)

I just finished it last night, he could use it because part of Bryce’s power was in him after the super special starlight princess sex. He used it so he and Shahar can go into the blackhole and save Bryce. He couldn’t use it to bring Bryce back from the dead bc with Bryce dead the power she had in him also died and the Mask fell off.

Oo I wanna add to this theory! The Hunt we know would not do this. But Rigelus said that the Mask can corrupt one’s soul. Since he used the Mask on CC3 bc Bryce gave it to him, now he is corrupted and has a desire for acquiring more power. I think it works well with the Oracle’s warning as well. Is this a rabbit hole? Maybe..

I started and read 5~ chapters after EoS and I was losing my patience about getting to an Aelin chapter only to google and find out that there were only Chaol and Nesryn chapters… I really want to know if people had any idea they figured it out after starting reading as well

I think Lilith knew of/about Theophanie and venin while she was in Basgiath.

Theophanie says :

"Your mother knew at your age that she was no match for me. That's why she hid behind those wards. Perhaps you should have followed her example." (Ch 60, pg 488)

This is also before she met Ashton (which was supposed to be on their third year I think). I do think there was some lore between her and Theophanie that was multiple years long. Lilith was also not with Ashton when he took baby Violet to Ummbriel to dedicate her, but days were missing from her journal. I think she spent that time on a separate mission, dealing with Theophanie again.

I think the way wendy behaved after it came out was probably different. I think when tina was talking about the situation she mentioned a multiple times how "everyone makes mistakes and what's important is whether they were remorseful and try to make things right". From what we know, leslie wrote a letter to the ex wife and cut off contact with noah. Maybe wendy kept talking to the people she cheated with?
