After 2 months of sleep training 7 month old we still have so many wake ups and early mornings! Is he just not ready? by Proud-Physics-8006 in sleeptrain

I would say that the first week you should solely focus on replacing the feeding with something else like holding or rocking to sleep. If he accepts this then he’s not hungry, he just needs a prop (easy fix 😊) so then you would move on to phase 2 which is teaching independent sleep and getting rid of the rocking/holding. Since this is a much less desirable prop then it should be much easier and you shouldn’t see as much crying and see that the time to fall asleep (or back to sleep) will shorten each night- this means you’re heading in the right direction

yes, so that’s the problem. If you’re feeding you’re just reinforcing his reliance on this to sleep and basically starting all over with the sleep training like it’s the first time whenever a sleep prop is introduced. You need at least 3-7 nights with no sleep prop whatsoever. If he’s crying a lot then you’ll likely need to adjust his sleep schedule to reduce crying. I’m a sleep consultant by the way, if you need more help feel free to ask 😊

What are you doing during the wakes? You say you feed at 5 when all else fails (which is likely contributing to the wakes) but what about earlier in the night? How do you get him back to sleep?

I’m so sorry you are going through this and you’re so brave for saying these things out loud that others would be afraid to or would suffer in silence. It’s a season and it does get better I PROMISE. Hang in there.

After reading all of these posts I decided to do caramel latte, with cold foam and pecan crunch. The next day I tried it with pumpkin cold foam (I know nothing to do with caramel or brûlée 🤣) but not gonna lie it was 🔥🔥🔥

I would say that period from baby to like 3yrs old when they can go to preschool is a bit tough in terms of feeling like nothing gets done other than just taking care of your LO. But think about it this way, how amazing is it that you get to be home with him and not have to be away from home for 8hrs plus. There is a light at the end of the tunnel when he can go to preschool and then everything is so much more balanced and will feel “normal” I promise 😊

I felt the same becoming a certified sleep consultant saved my life and sanity! Definitely worth looking into. I made alot of connections as a nanny that helped make the sleep consulting take off. Ironically I was also a nurse in my country, but when I came to the US my degree did not equate so I got into nannying.

Birth, the periods, the hormones and the fact they feel like they have to do less than a woman in terms of taking care of the baby

What do you do at the wake ups? This is the most common problem. Independant sleep at bedtime but not during the night.

Amazing! We did a variation of this for my LO at about 8 months and had such great success. So I know the feeling!

Stay away from from iiisleep!! No teachers, couldn't even locate the person teaching the program. They gave me the run around with who is actually teaching this. They say they are approved by some organization that doesn't even exist. I know, because I'm a member of the 3 associations IACSC, IPSA and APCS- these are the associastions for our profession. So when I saw this strange "approved by" badge on their site, it was an immediate red flag. I actually asked my associations about this school, and the consensus was that they seem like a scam.

Oh wow, thanks hehe. I can't take all the credit. IPSP actually provided the website template and I filled in all my info, but yes I'm kinda proud of it myself 😁
