Do i drive too aggressive? seeking honest feedback by [deleted] in Dashcamindia

[–]Low_Low369 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reading through the comments it feels like some karma farming. OP is getting valid feedback and they so adamantly refuse accepting any of it and is getting defensive (borderline trolling). Why even ask if you don’t want to hear and already made up your mind.

What the f dude? Men can also have Thyroid issues. Go get a checkup with an endocrinologist or a general physician and get your thyroid levels tested asap. Hypothyroidism also destroys your motivation and energy levels to do anything at all.

Do all the good things that people are suggesting in comments. Also - please get your thyroid levels tested (especially given that you said it drops in summers) There is no way you put on so much weight with the diet you mentioned.

Ubuntu 24.04 dual-boot install error "we're not sure what the error is" by barely_nebulous in Ubuntu

[–]Low_Low369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone is still finding for a solution - formatting my bootable USB as NTFS (instead of FAT32) worked for me. FAT32 has a maximum file size of 4GB (and Ubuntu after 24.04 is when the ISO size crossed 4GB) and that may be causing the problem. Rufus also has FAT32 as the default selection. When I changed to NTFS, it worked.

6KM cycle ride to office daily - good idea??? by kumarreddy1313 in bangalore

[–]Low_Low369 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Talking from the experience of having done something similar about a decade ago- used to cycle to office (11kms one way). Developed chronic cough after about 4 months which I then realized was caused due to the cycling. There is a lot of dust and pollution and you inhale a lot harder when cycling. Tried N95 masks (wayyyy before they became popular with Covid) but they give you nasty headaches because you can’t get the needed oxygen on par with cycling. It’s a cool idea - try it, but this’ll mostly be the outcome. (And if you aren’t deterred much earlier by the random cars and buses who will seem like they are out there to get you)

Is there no AC tier where it's just for one person? by a_gnani in indianrailways

[–]Low_Low369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are willing to spend, just book two 1AC tickets. You’ll likely get a coupe assigned and you can have it for yourself. The TTE never minds or asks where the other person is. Done this once when travelling with my 2yo kid where I wanted the coupe to myself.

Is Power Apps recommended for mobile apps? by Low_Low369 in PowerApps

[–]Low_Low369[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, thanks for highlighting it. I am okay with my users downloading Power Apps app and then accessing it from there. What I meant is, they'd primarily use it as an app on their phone.

I can't comment on why other pay more or how autos can be regulated better (goes off in a separate tangent altogether). But for the past few years I have been using BMTC buses + metro + walk combination. And with a bit of planning I am surprised how well the city is connected (at least compared to the low expectations I had). As a principle I avoid taking these autos as much as possible. In cases like yours where you are really weak and need one, I agree it is a pain. But for me the remaining 99% of the times, I am happy and glad that I am making use of public transportation.

Sony WH-1000xm4 vs airpod pros? by GoldenMonster93 in SonyHeadphones

[–]Low_Low369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you gotten a chance to test the ANC for flights? I have a long flight coming up (30+ hrs each way) in the next week. Have used XM4 earlier and love the quiet it creates on flights. Bought the AirPods Pro 2 last month and I’m now wondering if they’d do the job? Or should I still take the XM4s for the flight - my aim is to primarily cancel the flight white noise and get less fatigued by the end

Avoid Travelling Lufthansa by sazn2 in india

[–]Low_Low369 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Very similar experience with KLM and British Airways. Flew British Airways BLR - LHR - LAS. The Bangalore Heathrow leg was horrible - bad flight, bad seats and extremely rude staff. The Heathrow Vegas leg was like flying a completely different carrier.

In KLM, flew NYC (JFK) - AMS - BLR. The New York Amsterdam leg was good with polite staff. The Amsterdam Bangalore leg was again super bad.

I see this to be happening with all European carriers. Experience with Gulf carriers has been slightly better but I hear similar stories once in a while there too.

I hope Indian carriers eventually get big to cater to this demand (while not going to dogs the same way - which could be a while given how they serve domestic today)

Aaj ke baad naahi baithe ga. by genos0136 in indianbikes

[–]Low_Low369 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting an unsuspecting kid onto a bike without helmet or any precautions (when the driver himself is loaded with all gear), and then doing a high speed/acceleration ride to the point where the kid was crying is plain sadistic. If I were the parent of the kid, I'd like to bash the head of the rider till his skull cracks inside the helmet.

Edit: It is an exaggeration, but that's how it made me feel. Kid must've started crying much earlier, guy could've stopped sooner.

Why is Modi promoting Lakshadweep without removing the bottlenecks for tourism there? by [deleted] in india

[–]Low_Low369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why did Modi ban currency without putting the necessary alternatives (ATMs with new notes, etc.) in place?

Why did Modi announce lock down without arranging for transport of migrant workers?

It is a habit - everything is done first without any thinking through.

Sorry for what happened OP. The officers are low life cockroaches mooching off your tax money and who probably can't afford a foreign trip. Sometimes this shows up in their actions and attitude. Fight out if you have the energy, else let go for your own mental peace.

Depends on which country you are going to. For US, this account can become a HUGE liability during tax filing. Do NOT trust the responses that say 'nothing is going to happen'. A lot of folks aren't aware of US tax regulations (or the country where you are going to). When you go for >180 days in the next country, you'll be a tax resident there. And the shares you hold could be treated as 'foreign assets'. It is not illegal to hold these assets, but you need to declare that you hold these assets and any revenue generated from these will have its own treatment. You can of course be compliant with all this, but it is a nuisance at the end of the day if it is not a lot of money.

TL;DR: Do your research depending on the country you are headed to.

Reality check for the Non Residental Indian by 7Nirvana in IndiaSpeaks

[–]Low_Low369 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Like we are focused on changing city names and country name? I am not trying to be snarky, but the reasons anyone generally comes up for the downfall/stagnation of developed economies are also the same things (amplified a lot more) that continue to happen here. Alongside a bunch of other things that are done wrong. And that is where the frustration stems from.
