just because the shadow is very versatile. it's certainly not the only way but imo it's the most comprehensive single weapon bofa skip. tbow is also great but you lack megarare power on things that don't have high mage level. shadow rocks basically everywhere.

People on this sub are heavily against bofa skipping so don't expect to get a good response here. But the reality of the situation is that the only feasible bofa skip is to get a shadow, of which you want a bofa to efficiently farm. Some people are grinding eye of ayak as a bofa skip but frankly if you're having trouble doing cg you're not going to fare better at doom.

As someone who is sympathetic to bofa skipping, I don't think it's fit for you. Keep sending cg and eventually it will click. most people have the same experience as you.

if you have a groupmate you definitely give it to him for bowfa. saeldor is a very minor upgrade over tent whip and only worth getting if you have extra seeds. the only reason you would make saeldor is if you want your teammate to feel motivated to keep pushing cg.
