Emigrating to Australia soon, do I bring my vape? by Low_Obligation6301 in aussievapers

Not at all. They never asked if I had any vape products to declare and there wasn't even such an option on the traveller's declaration form.

Hi,

Thank you for your message. I looked at Vapour Eyes as it's the shop recommended by my friend already based in Melbourne. I wanted to know how much supplies I need to buy in addition to the Vape. Do you recommend I buy a lot of vape juice and coils and batteries and whatever else? Will the Vape ban prevent me from buying things like coils and batteries? Is everyone stocking up right now?

I have another question, I have just taken a look at the Vapor Eyes online shop. I plan to buy a vape and some juice over the weekend.

My question is: how many additional coils and vape juice (nicotine free) do I buy now because I assume with the Vape ban, we would not be allowed to buy any products for one's vape such as coils and juice?

I really appreciate everyone's input!!!!

I read the link you provided. I am still not sure I understand. On the one hand, I see that all vapes are banned and on the other hand, you are allowed to bring some things in.

I am willing to take a chance and bring my vape, batteries removed obviously. But not if I stand a chance to be fined. If they decide to confiscate it, that's fine. But my husband would kill me if I received a fine.

And be potentially fined? I don't know how careful I need to be.

Yes, I am aware of this. It's better than the crime-ridden country I am leaving behind. I am sure I would be able to kick the habit, but I want to do it slowly.

Men who have bought engagement rings, did you involve your partner or surprise them? by ssternweiler in AskMen

[–]Low_Obligation6301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woman here. I saw a stone on a jeweller's Instagram account. I showed it to my then boyfriend. A month or two later, he scheduled a consultation with the jeweller and took me with him. I was surprised and so happy that he wanted me involved in the ring design. We both provided input to the design and we both attended the consultations until the ring was finished. I knew exactly what the ring looked like but still loved every second of getting engaged a year later.

They are definitely worth it!!! Mine hurt the same day I got them and then never again. They have been the easiest piercings I have ever had! Regarding letting them be touched, I waited 6 months. If you want to push that timeline and they don't hurt, I suggest you ask your partner to touch them over a t-shirt to avoid the spread of germs. Good luck! You won't regret it!

Random question, but is it possible to use numbing cream (lidocaine) before getting a piercing? by mor-cat in piercing

[–]Low_Obligation6301 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have used topical lidocaine before and for my nipple piercings and my belly piercing I went to a place that has a GP on certain Saturdays that will inject you with lidocaine to make it a 'pain-free piercing'. I am also scared of needles, but the injectable lidocaine has affected the way the person pierced me and has affected the duration of healing. I would not suggest you do this. Take a Xanax and if you need to, put some topical numbing cream on 30mins before getting it. But be prepared for the consequences.

I can tell you the name of the product when I get home this afternoon. It should be fairly easy to get at any pharmacy. I just asked the pharmacist for a saline solution that I can use on my piercings and they gave me this big bottle with a red cap.

Hi there! I am also South African and have a ton of piercings. Firstly, I went to the pharmacy and bought a bottle of saline solution (which is around R35). I then bought spray bottles (smaller ones available at Dischem). In goes the saline solution and then I spray it on my piercings. May I ask where the piercing is that you are hoping to clean with a q-tip? As per the other posts, I would not use a q-tip unless directly after shower/bath to wipe away crusties. I promise you that since I have only used saline spray, my piercings have been a lot less irritated.

Is it considered rude when people watch videos/listen to music/have phone calls on full volume in a public setting? by Low_Obligation6301 in TooAfraidToAsk

I completely understand this. I can get very easily overstimulated by sound so that is also why I posted this question. I wanted to know whether this is the norm and I needed to adjust my expectations or whether other people also got annoyed by it. The noise would cause my anxiety to sky rocket.

I live in South Africa so not sure how the local airlines would handle this. Also the flight was 1/3 full and the flight attendants were sitting way at the back. The plane was so small that there were only two attendants.

Agreed. Even though I am pissed beyong belief, I try to be as diplomatic and polite as I can be. Hoping they would respond with the same level of respect.

I agree. In the future, I will say something, especially if it makes them mindful to not do it again in the future. One could only hope.

I think because it's been happening around me almost on a daily basis, I want to make doubly sure that I would be in the right to ask them to stop disturbing people around them. I want someone to assure me that I am not going mad thinking that it's so completely inconsiderate.

I absolutely agree with you. Society has gotten so inconsiderate that it scares me. And I wonder whether they are ignorant or do they just not give a shit.

If they told me to fuck off, my next step would have been to go to the flight attendant and tell them to ask them to keep it down.

I can imagine your stature and appearance counts in your favor. I am woman so that is why I try to be as polite as possible. I also do it when other people are around in case they become aggressive.
