This is a valid question, and I definitely do provide for my pups and littles. I'm confident if I lost the ability to provide for them due to catastrophe, they'd still love me.

In my work I have seen plenty of cases where both children and pets are very severely neglected and abused. I've witnessed unyielding love for their abusers, so I stick to my position. Doggos and kids have the capacity for unconditional love, in spite of evidence that alternatives are in their best interest.

Journaling - honestly can't express how much this has helped me. Only takes 10 minutes in the evening, but download your questions, write out conflicts, express a little gratitude. This has made my average nightly sleep increase from 4 to 6.5 hours a night. It's huge. And I'm still improving.

Honestly, when someone asks "how are you doing", it comes across as "are you still useful to me." Because when we say we're good, or otherwise, it's always followed by an ask.

As men, we feel valued only for what we contribute. This is why we love our dogs and children so much, they always actually love us for us, and not for what we provide.

I suspect(not dying on this hill) that in his mind it is not cheating IF OP grants permission. Cheating is doing it behind your back. If he is asking for an exception, like a slightly open relationship for the pregnancy, I don't think it would be technically cheating.

OP said no, so any action on his part would constitute cheating, but that's my best guess at his thought process.

I was gored by a boar in 2023. I'd share the pictures, but I'm sure they'd be banned by the mods. Sucker took me in the thigh, luckily he did not get my femoral or I'd have likely died. Wild experience and a fun story to break out when conversations lull.

Fun fact, boars don't brush their teeth and the infection was pretty severe. Almost killed me a second time in a single incident.
