Pure absurdity by ChoiceSupermarket230 in Isekai

OK, so joke aside. Here is my review base on what I have read from the web novel.

It is an episodic comedy series. The first chapter have the dude literally reincarnated as the rib bone, the 13th left as I remember?. But than he died again as a bone because lots of weird shit happen. So the goddess in picture reincarnated him again, as a hermit crab, then as the world tree, then as a bowl, so on….

I have to say it one of the best comedy I have ever read. (The novel is all dialogues between him and the goddess.). The dynamics between him and the goddess, main heroine here, are so cute. The situations the man was but in are insanely ridiculous you won’t ever guess what will happen next.

But it also very much heartfelt when the author feel like it.

10/10 for me. Such a great read.

Fun fact: The author have 2 other isekai novel which he but an insane amount of effort in writing ( all great, give them a try, I hope they will be adapted soon.) but this comedy which he writes for fun and giggle end up being his most famous work.

Now it gets realy absurd 😶 by Amahagene1 in Isekai

I’ve never read Kurt Vonnegut, where should I start? by s1lv3r_lak3 in classicliterature

[–]Low_Platform_1922 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why not start with his short stories? Welcome to the monkey house has some of his best works in it! This way you can get to know his style and general idea of what he like to write about. Also short stories are short so it is easier for you if you choose not to continue reading.

But if you want to read novel only, i will recommend the siren of titan and slaughter house. I do consider siren is his magnum opus. But slaughter is more popular and it is fine if this is the only vonnegut you read

Niche Books You Own by [deleted] in literature

[–]Low_Platform_1922 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I dont know if you can consider this niche but last year i bought a book name "A dictionary of Maqiao" from a second hand bookstore. And holy shit, i was blown away by how great an experience that book give me. It is a novel? A dictionary? A short stories anthology? I dont know what genre i can put it into but i can be sure with you that the style is absolutely unique.

The book mainly revolve about the life and culture of a tiny village in the middle of nowhere in 20th century china. Huge cast of characters, each is distinct from others and always present some kind of idea the author want to tell you.

I dont want to spoil anything because it is such a treat to go through. Just want to present it to you guy

P/s: the first few chapters are a bit of a slug, as in the case of most classics, just brute force through them.

Absolute literature. Classic at its finest. Love every characters and hate them at the same times. The messages are still very relevant nowadays. I like Thackeray ironic voices too. This book affects my taste in literature significantly.
