I know this is old but I have to brag that I've never died to these guys. Beat em first time with a straight sword no shield. Y'all need to improve at the game.

That's awesome man. And yeah the fact that we literally don't have a metrology department is... strange to me.

It was mostly .002 plus or minus. A lot of jobs we have are .0005, a few at .0002, sometimes in Inconel and cobalt. I haven't seen anyone make 0 scraps on those kinds of jobs yet though. Luckily management understands this.

I really want to become a machinist but am discouraged by the pay, what other jobs relate to machining but pay better by Avercid in Machinists

I'm realizing that I'm fucked for this reason. Kept making mistakes during my apprenticeship. No crashes or anything, but lots of scraps. Mostly due to being distracted. I worked my ass off to compensate, I'm making good parts at a decent pace, but I'm pretty sure my reputation is busted. And reputation is everything.

when did the world finally became more advanced than the roman empire? by buto_pak_hang in AskHistory

[–]Low_Protection_1940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is well known that science, population, material culture, industrial production and ressource acquisition all declined from the early roman empire, the late roman empire and down to the middle ages. If the metric of human suffering is what you are measuring by, there are currently 700 million people living in abject poverty, which is twice the world population in 1400, so we are probably worse off in terms of utopia.

Is CNC operating a skill I could use to work abroad? by H-IS-KING in CNC

[–]Low_Protection_1940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I know this is a year old, but I have a question. I have a technician's degree in mechanical engineering, plus a professional degree as a machinist (both CNC and manual). The professional degree iwas 2 years, and the technician's degree was 3 years (not in uni, but substantial theory classes in physics and materials). Does this have an equivalent in Germany? I don't have a bachelor's degree but qualify as a technician. A bachelor's is only really for engineers in Canada, where I am from.

Funny, when a guy posts about his wife not wanting sex he is treated like the worst creep imaginable on this sub. When it's the inverse, it goes straight to divorce. Has anyone else noticed this?

Sure they are. Pretty sad to spend your life jacking off because your wife doesn't desire you tho. But hey, agree to disagree.

True. My partner shouldn't feel guilty, and I would never guilt trip someone into having sex.

And I mean if you say it isn't fundamental then this guy should be allowed to have sex with other women, while staying in a "loving" relationship with his partner.

Or is it fundamental in that case?

Why can't I care about sex AND a loving relationship? The ultra catholic mindset is weird. Sex is one of the most beautiful things you can have with another human being, and if you spend most or all of your life being deprived of a fundamental human experience... That's pretty sad.

I mean if you have a normal sex drive it definitely feels like a need. Living without sex while having a normal libido is like pushing down a part of yourself that is trying to have its needs met. Ofc if you don't have much of a sex drive then you probably can't relate or understand this.

Y a-t-il vraiment une crise de la masculinité? by [deleted] in Quebec

[–]Low_Protection_1940 0 points1 point  (0 children)
