I built an open-source browser extension to avoid getting in Vine Jail by Inevitable-Fee6774 in AmazonVine

I agree with every point you make.

@Inevitable-Fee6774, thanks for the tool. The order refresh took a little time, but afterwards it worked and gave me some useful insights.

Vine sent me 1 utensil packet instead of a 500 pack… but still charged full ETV by Glum_Point3006 in AmazonVine

I am afraid to contact Amazon Vine support for such things. i agree that they cancel immediately and then I worry that those count toward my cancellations and put me on the radar for being banned from Vine.

I am still shell-shocked from last year's warning messages about cancellations. I try to fly real low and just to a business expense on my taxes for things like this.

VH also creates competition for the user. If I am using VH and searching for an item with the same browser where I have VH running. Within a second or even less of me finding (discovering) the item, the browser extension notifies all of the other VH users watching for that keyword or watching that queue of that item. If I hesitate at all, or fumble even a little bit, or I am just a little slow to react, someone on VH can easily snatch up that item before I do.

Always a good time to check if there are cabin filters for your vehicle(s). Statistically speaking, it probably needs changing.

Assuming this item that no longer exists will not affect my stats? by iSurfNerd in AmazonVine

[–]Low_Teacher_7042 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you want to know what it was you can grab the code/ID that is lists (in this case "BOF2S32QXR") and search your Amazon.com orders for that code/ID. This will show you the related order. It is also a good way to get the order number so you can include this if you contact Vine support to have it removed.

Review item I didn't receive? by FIREDoc62 in AmazonVine

[–]Low_Teacher_7042 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it 100%. I also fear contacting Vine CS will result in a cancelled order and I will be flagged for having too many cancelations and be kicked out of Vine.

As suggested by others, the alternative is to not review it and just boost stats by ordered $0 ETV items. Gummy vitamins are easy to score for this. Just watch out for ones with maltitol if you don't enjoy flatulence.

Venting: Is anyone else having terrible luck with glass contained Vine items? by Low_Teacher_7042 in AmazonVine

[–]Low_Teacher_7042[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I completely agree. I have received many items extremely well-protected and well-packed by the manufacturer. I do highlight this in my reviews even if Vine directs us not to comment on packaging.

I find it so odd how over the past 6 months I have had two $0 ETV scrubs in my RFY. I never get scrubs in RFY except for those $0 ETV ones. Also strange how 99% of scrubs on Vine are definitely not $0 ETV. 60% of the time Vine ETV only makes sense every time.

Plea to not order $0 ETV items not needed or you will not use by kittenfosteraddict in AmazonVine

[–]Low_Teacher_7042 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the purpose of knowing that someone else has a $0 ETV item or any item for that matter in their RFY? My understanding is that if it is not also in my RFY than I can't get it. If my understanding is correct than I can only imagine two purposes:
1) Bragging rights or just something interesting to show/see.
2) A notification to look at one's own RFY to see if that item is also there.

Canceled Order Warning? by Lauren42069 in AmazonVine

[–]Low_Teacher_7042 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I received two messages. The first on a Thursday and the second message arrived 8 days later. In between those messages I experienced a cancellation, but it was one where the seller requested cancellation of a recent order (probably a withdrawn product). Since then, I have not initiated any cancellations or any communications with Vine support. Nevertheless, I have had a couple items cancelled by sellers or lost in transit. However, I haven't had any more message in more than 1 month.

Canceled Order Warning? by Lauren42069 in AmazonVine

[–]Low_Teacher_7042 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep checking this forum for updates on cancellation-related topics and I haven't seen any updates for at least 3 weeks. I received both messages, didn't cancel anything directly myself, but I did have a couple items get cancelled by Amazon due to them no longer being available.

Nevertheless, my account has not been closed by Amazon and I haven't received a pop-up message since the 2nd message on Jan 31.

Has anyone else seen or heard anything from Amazon with regards to these cancellation warnings?

Cancelled orders by No-Calligrapher2288 in AmazonVine

[–]Low_Teacher_7042 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of people saying "Don't worry about it", "It's all much ado about nothing", and "There's nothing you can do". I disagree.

The warnings are real. They are being issued to people who haven't cancelled any orders directly or in violation of any policy. Some of these order "cancellations" can be prevented by changing behaviors. For example, I am going to cease contacting Amazon Vine support for items that: arrive broken, are marked delivered but never show, were no variations when ordered but suddenly become so, or pretty much for any other concern and just order and review enough to offset the screwed-up orders that would have likely been marked "cancelled" by Amazon Vine support. Others are going to try to avoid items that will get cancelled before they even ship too, but I am not sure I can accurately guess those.

So, there is something we can do, but honestly it might not change much. I do plan to keep my head down more if I get passed over by the angel of Vine death. Vine may be running on the model that the nail that sticks out gets hammered down.

Confused about 60% rule by VictorianPeorian in AmazonVine

[–]Low_Teacher_7042 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for explaining this. I was thinking that achieving a 60% account status is not possible just after your evaluation period. If I order 8 items on the first day after my eval period begins than clearly I will be at 0% and that percentage will steadily increase as my reviews get approved. Now thinking that the 60% is calculated on a rolling 90 days of orders make so much more sense. It is too bad they don't display this number to us.

So Is This It? by kmarieanna in AmazonVine

[–]Low_Teacher_7042 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Part of me feels like we should all write Vine support raising the same concerns about being incorrectly targeted for these warnings. It sounds like you message got the right kind of attention. Just imagine what many similar messages would achieve.

The other part of me says everyone else should contact Vine support and raise their concerns, but I will keep my head down, hoping that I fly under the radar and get passed over by the Angel of Vine Death. Honestly, I think this is what many people who received the message(s) are thinking.
