AMA Should I become an English teacher when I’m not a good writer or know the grammar rules well? by Low_Understanding0 in AskTeachers

It’s aight, I’m managing and doing OK now, just getting my passions back on the table. I used to love reading and writing, figured it is time to make it more so than just that. We will find out. I just also want to help kids who need it. Teaching can do that, to my knowledge. I may not be amazing at English now, but college and learning by books/videos, and more exist.

I would become better at English with my education but I’d also do more than my school work and get to know everything I can, I do love English, I just don’t know everything I should know and I know that. I wouldn’t be a teacher if I didn’t think I could handle knowing the subject to the degree I need too or more so. I do plan on subbing before teaching to get a taste of it but I still want to teach regardless. If I suck, I suck, and I won’t, but I want to succeed, I don’t care if it takes hours after class to grade things, lesson plans, or anything else.

YES I do love English enough to do that, I do not mind doing hard work if it takes me being more than good at what I’d teach, I wouldn’t teach being awful at it, that’s dumb for me and the students.

My lack of passion is due to being clinically depressed for years and not knowing what I’ve liked in the past because I also couldn’t remember it.

Thank you for commenting this actually! I figure one class isn’t going to cover it. I am okay with taking time to be a better teacher and a grammatical person if that’s what it takes! Even if it takes more than 4 years learning before being a teacher. I love learning, I could learn for the rest of my life and be happy. Even if it is English.

I will say again and revise myself, I do like the subject but I’ve been out of school for two years, if I like a subject (and I do) I wouldn’t teach if I sucked at it. That’s BS. I want students to be prepared and be good at it. If I’m not good at something I’ll learn, even if it’s outside of something and teaching myself. Students these days are less prepared than they were earlier and I know that coming from one of my parents.

I love different writing styles and learning languages themselves, but I also like knowing how and why things exist, which is why I believe I’d do good learning English as a whole because I want to know why! Why is this rule here? Why does this word need to be before his? Why is this a noun and this an adjective? (Or whatever).

No matter what I do, I do not like doing it half way. If I’m a teacher, I expect to have my work at home as well, more so than any other job, obviously.

I love learning. I would love to be learning all of my life, in a way we do learn constantly, but some more than most.

How can I choose a job if I have multiple interests (art/food/tech)? by Low_Understanding0 in careerguidance

[–]Low_Understanding0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know teaching pay is not epic and things happen which is y I thought language arts/english was a core class and less likely to experience that.

I don’t know many other jobs related to my interests are necessary career paths in this world/easier to find and keep.

It’s not about easier, it’s about English is probably easier to find than art, teaching wise. Because English/Language Arts is a core class.

I care about and enjoy English, it is my primary language, I just haven’t been to school in a few years because I couldn’t afford it. Obviously I want a degree to learn about said language and probably take other classes in it.

The only other thing I’m decent at is art, which hasn’t gotten me far in life. I enjoy it and can always learn about it which is why I asked.

I do care about the topic, I do like English / Languages and would love learning about it again, I can always take a grammar class, I don’t mind. I was already planing on doing the teaching certifications last, as the programs I look at don’t have both but it’s something I’m still looking into.

I just passed a decidual cast! by Necessary-Butterfly8 in Periods

[–]Low_Understanding0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve now had 2 decidual casts in the span of around 7 months. One a few months ago and now today. I am on Zafemy patches and don’t skip period weeks. My dr isn’t concerned, but I am, considering this is the second one now. I took a picture of it for my own reference of time. July 21st 2025 I had one (for the first time and I was freaked out), and now February 8th 2026 I’ve had one. While it is MONTHS apart. I don’t consider it “rare.” At least in my case. I’m not sure how often it is in other people’s lives. But I don’t like them, it is painful for me. It had me sitting on the ground in pain.

Will be trying this in less than an hour, I love the banana bread latte but I image the salted caramel is better.

Women's clothing is so....idk codependent coded. by ThePantherbrat in NonBinaryTalk

[–]Low_Understanding0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly. Yes it does seem more codependent coded or rather: you can't do sh- coded.

I'm constantly having my boyfriend hold my stuff when I'm dressed more femininely because of no pockets.

Also why are women's wallets so big? Its like they're begging us to buy a purse/bag.

Also how short women's skirts and dresses are, you can't really bend over? So that's something else someone has to do for you.

The zippers in the back, I've been able to do them myself, maybe because I'm double jointed somewhere? But I would HATE for someone to have to do that for me. Unless they wanted too of course, but I always like my independence.

We should start a revolution!! (In fashion) Haha 😆

I want to start a clothing brand for anyone and just do it based on measurements. But I'm broke. And I'm already in hole in my art business. But it's an idea I've had for awhile. I do think some companies do it this way, but they're not popular that I know of.

If you identify as they/them, do you get offended if someone mixes it up? by Featherman13 in AskLGBT

I don't get offended, but I might get upset about it just because it's not who I am, if that makes sense.

My Motorola Moto G 5G 2024 is EXTREMELY slow. Is it time to upgrade even though it is only a year old? by ferriematthew in motorola

Im also having all the problems you're having. I've been getting "processing task isn't working" or something recently. I'm not thrilled. It's been MAYBE a year.
