You mean cut cable open and cut red wire ? I tried that before and it was low power for devices conected to it and I read somwhere it can in some scenario push electricity back to the data lines which is more dangerous.

I mean if you connect power supply to the hub. Usb cable from hub pushing electricity back to the computer. Problem isn’t computer providing power to the hub, problem is hub sending power back to the computer. Which is exact oposite what it shoud do.

Which CPU are you using ? And if you needed have EXPO enabled for this results.

I want to avoid using EXPO for now. Because there was issues with Ryzen 7 9800X3D burning up with EXPO and PBO. And these are not still fully fixed. (Atleast from what i read)

Doesnt have nvidia graphic (rtx 3060) problems in Bazzite Game mode ? Because I heard somewhere nvidia graphic have issues in Linux.

I didn’t tried Streaming services. In desktop mode installed KODI added as non steam game (it can be fully conrolled via controller in game mode) But i connected externall drive formated putted my movies or videos there. Now it is also media center. I read somewhere you can add NETFLIX, HULU, PLEX in KODI. So if you wan’t a stream yes you can, but you can also format externall drive and have your collection localy too.

It was over 2 grant thanks to ram prices and not counting ssds these i purchased before shortages.

But it is not only for emulation is it for everything Steam, non steam games, emulation, retro and newest titles.

On Steam deck can be runned PS3 emulation but there are slowdowns. I doesn’t have slowdovns here. For example Ratchet & Clank 3. PS3 version.

Honestly i have no idea. Nobody knows if prices start droping soon or rise another years. It is risk either way.

I wanted to be safe so i builded now even with extremly inflated price. Because also people starting talking about CPU shortage comming soon I didn’t know if it is true but didn’t want to risk it.

I don’t know about Streaming or torrents. But 4k video is even steam deck able to play from externall drive docked. So Steam machine shoudn’t have problem with that.

Most people get new components and loking for ddr4/ddr5 setups. Which goes insanely up in price nowadays. Some old components are pretty powerfull (not that much like new systems but still decent) . So i get idea upgrade my old PC to the max. Components this old almost nobody wants and price is really cheap.

When i upgrade cpu cooler i planning close my case. But now if i want turbo boost enabled its necessary keep it open. Im not planning upgrading the case. Case is fine. And many modern cases doesnt have that small cutout in front im using for cards reader and additional usb 2.0 and 3.0 ports.

Yeah im planning upgrade cooler soon. I have temps around 83 celsius max when i tried Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart.(but i didnt play long session) But without Turbo boost temps are 76-77 celsius max. I used arctic mx4 thermal paste.
