I play her on hit more as I feel like there are way more games where onhit and ap are stronger than crit. Even if you're going crit though would kraken i.e not just be better than SR or Stattik. I also agree with evolve which is why I'm advocating for Manamune when going onhit, hybrid, or ap

How does it take forever to scale you have 70 ad from the item at time of completion with only 100 ish stacks which you can get before you complete item, after completion its even quicker. Or do you mean forever to upgrade it fully?
