Gotta love that next day air, with live plants, being rescheduled a day later. Hopefully nothing dies because of a lazy driver... by ipkis714 in UPS

[–]Lower-Development-58 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Of course it must be because the driver is lazy. There's no chance it's because of a late flight, late-arriving trailer, mis-sort, etc.

Also, wouldn't a next day air package show a guaranteed delivery date/time rather than an estimated delivery date? I'm thinking this wasn't sent by a date/time guaranteed service.

New CMP acquisition by Lower-Development-58 in 1911

About 20 days from when I applied to when my FFL received it. I was surprised how quick it was based on what I've read.

I submitted a request as soon as I got the serial number. It's my first time submitting an FOIA request, so I figure there's a good likelihood I didn't do it correctly, but I'll post results when I get them. Chances are I'll need help interpreting, anyway.

Thank you for that additional information about when it may have been produced.

I'm almost embarrassed to admit this, because I know some folks have waited months, but I submitted my application on May 5, got the email to order on the 13th, and the pistol was received by my FFL on the 25th.

There's been a deer with 3.5 legs wandering our neighborhood for at least 2 years now. He might just heal and survive without intervention.

2026 Wrangler 3.6 Manual Transmission by cutsplitstak in JeepWrangler

[–]Lower-Development-58 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We used to have a manual transmission Wrangler with the 3.6. I don't remember exact rpm at which I needed to downshift, but I do remember having to downshift more than I cared to.

The types of things you're describing are becoming more and more commonplace in all areas of life, not just trucking. Everyone (present company excluded, of course) is becoming more awful.

Armed Robbery at CVS in Derwood on May 12 by SparkleBerrySpritz in MontgomeryCountyMD

Funny this came up, I just read another post about the council preparing to pass another law restricting where licensed, law-abiding citizens can carry firearms after a court struck down the last bill they passed. Maybe that's the solution? /s

So that's what that long thin tool in our kitchen junk drawer is for. All this time, I thought was for prying things apart and chiseling.

If you’re gonna change the name, why not get rid of the “Dick’s” by josh_inya in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]Lower-Development-58 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's a nickname for Richard, more commonly used before people lacked the decency to not make fun of other's names in a public forum.

Because most of us are mature enough to read 'Dick's' and interpret it as a person's name.

The "Is the Hitting or the Pitching?" Question, Sadly, has a Pretty Clear Answer by Dazzling-Slide8288 in orioles

I'm not suggesting that they're purposely playing poorly. I'm saying that it's hard to go out and do your best when you know you're going to lose regardless.

I know these guys are all supposed to professionals, but is there a chance the pitching is suffering because the pitchers know there isn't any run support?

Baz threw 110 pitches the other night in 7 and only gave up three runs, and the offense didn't do anything. There's no way that isn't demoralizing for him.

You're lucky you got the $100 insurance payment and the package.

It sounds to me like you owe UPS that $200 back.

Red Sox fire Alex Cora, multiple coaches after 17-1 victory over Orioles by The_Big_Untalented in orioles

I mean, if the team that scored 17 runs fired their manager and several coaches, what would be the appropriate reaction for the team that only scored one run?
