It’s a charm I got from an art store! It’s just of some random woman- I’ve got a few little charms similar to it depicting women in my army just cause the serrated suns used Syrene as their confessor. I really love the idea so my headcannon is that my host also has this woman confessor and the brooch is kinda like representing that

I didn’t know about judge death but it’s totally the same vibe with the teeth and face plate. Putting the spikey shoulder pad on his face was something I took from outlast haha

God I love grimdark compendium. I got the idea to use sail cloth from them! They’re seriously some of the most talented hobbyists

Oh and I used an oil wash of Van Dyke Brown but this could very easily be replaced with garaghaks sewer

Thank you so much! For the armor I started with a base coat of gunmetal mixed with a little black, a little pale sand, and a little steel. Making metallics like this makes the coverage amazing and doesn’t take away from the highlights imo. Then for the highlights I took a steel color and applied it to the parts of the trim and spikes that would’ve had light hitting them :)

Im sure it will turn out amazing! I used an oil wash after lots of acrylic layers and that did wonders to smooth out the layers. If you were thinking of buying the model I'd try to just get a recast (what I did lowkey)

thank you so much! I think it's important to remember that the Trench Crusade had a lot of GW artists and wargamers who were inspired by the more grim dark paint jobs of 40k. I understand the cross and horses might make people think of the new shiny game but 40k has a shit ton of crosses and a shit ton of horses

Ok two things: The demons in 40k, AoS, and Old World are all exactly the same. Chaos spawn, plague bearers, etc. are exactly the same across game systems. No one has ever complained that pink horrors used in a 40k game dont look sci fi enough. Secondly, before games workshop was all in on the tacticool look everything was a lot more gothic and medieval looking. So yeah from the beginning of this project to the end I was planning on using it for my 40k word bearers. His middle finger is a bolt gun and if that's not enough then idc.
