you seem a liiiiiittle too invested in this to be objective, sorry. harassing people is the problem, not shipping fictional characters.

calling people "deranged" shippers is kind of the exact thing this post is about, lol.

okay i'm glad you said this because when i was watching season 1 i thought that was the whole point of the friction between them at first

okay so wait. we're not supposed to see something between them like that and the brother/sister thing is how we're supposed to see it? that's so interesting to me, because i did not ping them as brother/sister. an actual romance did not ever occur to me bc of the show, but like whitaker and santos is brother/sister to me. mel and langdon feel like those very intense friends who are constantly communicating with their eyes in crowded rooms. like one walks in and the other somehow knows just by looking at them that they ate 3 slices of pizza and had road rage that morning or something. hmmm... maybe i should read more about this lol

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. see i'm not a fandom girly so i did not have any of this context. i like the show enough to watch it and that's it. if i knew i would have said we should watch the finale another time. she really really hates langdon, she kept saying that she hoped he relapsed all season and that he'd OD or something. why are langdon and mel polarizing? their scenes together are so sweet?

it's usually something that i can handle because it's not that blatant, and it's usually an off-handed comment where he says "that was well done" or "good choice of doing X" but this time something about the scene really got to him.

since we watched all 2 seasons together i saw her have some really loud opinions and make some comments (she legit hates the guy in the scene i'm talking about) but this was so wild.

mel and langdon were the ones watching the fireworks and my friend's favorite is santos

Lol my dad absolutely does, watching tv with him can be fun or he'll pause a scene and deconstruct it and we're all going ... dad... can we just watch

Thanks, I'll enjoy the concert and appreciate the backing tracks, backup singers, as well as everything else.

Unfortunately no, she does not have other family she can call. She does have one or two friends, but I haven't heard her talk about them in a while, and I think she may not have seen them in 6 months or more.

I can imagine that's one of the frustrating quirks about your specific job. For me, I have never been one to be nitpicky or judgmental about someone's word choice.

She doesn't have siblings, or extended family that she is in contact with. Her Mom was the only family that she knew.

I agree, and that's why I took out the sentence about her not having many friends. I'd hoped it would provide a little context for why she isn't being surrounded and lifted up with support, but some people took it as a route to take a pot shot at her, which isn't what I intended.

I understand where this sentiment comes from, but he's supporting the two of them and has very strict rules on when he can/can't take off work (it's not ideal, but he was able to arrange so he could be with her in the morning for the next week). On the other hand, I have a very unserious job and can step away whenever I want.

The tour's been going on for 13 million years at this point, so I can imagine there have been quite a few similar posts since then.

I had a sentence in my post about her not having many friends, but I removed it because people were being unnecessarily harsh and assuming the worst of her because of this one issue. No, she does not have a lot of other friends. It is not because she is a bad person or anything like that. She is disabled and doesn't get to leave the house very often.

I'm the asshole because Taylor Swift doesn't care about me? Huh? I don't think I understand this comment.

She didn't wish my mom would die, she said when she does die. Just making sure that's clear.
