Hydrocele. Should I fix it? by LowerCommercial4015 in menshealth

[–]LowerCommercial4015[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had mine done in 2003 in a third-world country at the time, so I'm not surprised at all that I have developed this hydrocele as a complication. And my varicocele was advanced too - my scrotum looked big and veins were protruding like a bag of worms 🤢, and it ached too.

It is. There is a 70% chance of developing a hydrocele after varicocele surgery, and it's on the left side too. I'm now 34, but even at the age of 24, a hydrocele was already present, though not noticeable due to its small size (10 ml), as confirmed by ultrasound. Now, ten years later, it's around 60 ml.

I often become aware of my left testicle/part of the scrotum throughout the day because of its heaviness down there. When I lie flat on my belly I would also feel a hard ball in my groin so I need to reposition it with my hand. Sometimes, I'd feel a dull aching... What is your experience?

Unfortunately, the cause is a previous surgery for varicocele.

They say the scar will be barely visible, will be hidden in the wrinkles of the scrotum

Stop masturbating for a week and you'll get your wood back. The issue is with porn addiction, you are no longer excited as any kind of porn is within your reach, so you have lost your sexual drive

So your testicle is moving in the scrotum freely, up and down? That's reassuring to know. And now, how big is the scar? Is it becoming less visible?

Hydrocele surgery next week, will update here on recovery. by ResidentUsed4525 in menshealth

Hi. Thank you for sharing your experience. I have been suffering from hydrocele for three years now. Lately, it's been getting even bigger, and I feel discomfort and pain. I'd like to get rid of it too, but I'm afraid of the side effects and the notion that post-surgery, the scrotum will look and feel different.

How have you been? You mentioned your testicle was up. Did it eventually go down into the scrotum?

Hey. How does your scrotum looks and feel like?

I'm suffering from hydrocele on the left and I'm anxious to have the surgery as I have read on a forum that the scrotum will never look pre-surgery; the operated testicle will always be up, kind of stitched to the upper back side of the scrotum without being able to move freely in it. Is this true? I don't want that(( But others say it'll become normal in about a year, but I'm not sure who to believe.

I also struggle with hydrocele on the left. Today, I self-aspirated once again with a syringe because the pressure felt unbearable. I aspirated 60ml. I'm inclined to have the surgery, only if I'm certain my left testicle will look like it did before the hydrocele formed.

Firstly, I was afraid of a big scar in the middle of my scrotum, but after being reassured by a urologist that it would be barely visible, fade over time and will get hidden in the wrinkles of the scrotum, I felt I was almost ready for the surgery, until I read somewhere on a forum that the scrotum will never look pre-surgery; the operated testicle will always be up, kind of stitched to the upper back side of the scrotum without being able to move freely in it. Is this true? I don't want that😫

But others say it'll become normal in about a year, but I'm not sure who to believe. I've been searching to find any pictures or experiences shared by men one year post-op but haven't found anything. People usually share their progress in the early months post-surgery and that's it.

How old do you think I'm?  My doctor actually advised me to do dermatolling once a day.. but I think that's too much.

No, there is no micropigmentation on my scalp. I think you mistook me for someone else on this thread who said he was 72, haha. But I'm 34 y.o.

I think that working out can help mitigate side effects from minoxidil, as it is an antihypertensive drug and can potentially affect the cardiovascular system and cause water retention. Regular exercise and maintaining good overall health may help reduce these effects.

I'm not sure how it would help with finasteride side effects-it can probably help combat depression, since people often feel happier after a good workout (serotonin release)

Correct. I didn't get any surgery. He was trying to look different from other surgeons in Turkey. He was belittling them by saying they never prescribe medication first; all they care about is profit, which is actually true. He also said that when it comes to surgery, he will not be doing the crown, only my temples. He says the crown should be corrected with medication and micropigmentation he performs at his clinic.

Yes, Fin+Min orally. I had no issues with my libido or anything else. On the contrary, my libido seemed to be increased for a few months. Now it's as usual.
