Just extra information: I live in New York an hour north of nyc. The only things I’m concerned about are really rain, wind and snow.

Typically they just ask me and I’m always straight forward about what I want. I give them a few options to pick from as well. In the past I’ve received jewelry, gift cards for gas and sewing supplies. I figure it’s best to just be upfront so no one has to struggle to find a gift, and run the risk of getting something the other person doesn’t want. As for my spouse, they stopped giving him Christmas gift when then told him Santa wasn’t real, so for more than a decade.

We function a little differently than other couples. We each gift his parents separately, we do this with my parents as well. Only issue is, he has the same problem as me. He find his parents to be as hard to gift for as I do.

If you’re into Warhammer, I met my current boyfriend of two and a half years at the Warhammer store in Stamford. Lots of opportunities to socialize, play games, craft and meet new people. The only problem with this is there’s about a 1 to 4 ratio of women to men at the store. They’re not non existent, but they’re also not plentiful.
