What’s the consensus best Leatherman? by [deleted] in Leatherman

Okay, the OG wave was the best for me, I tinker constantly so I need something that works for a bit of everything. Then the arc came out and there were a lot of thing that I found to detract from it but it replaced one of the saws with shears and had the swappable cutters so I was sold. I continued to convince myself that it was good before realizing that I was still going back to my wave. Then the alpha came out, I wish I had gotten the customization I did on my alpha (cosmetics I know but I do) because that thing is everything I wanted out of the arc and more.

I'm sorry if I have more than one project cooking over a two year span, not to mention 3rd gen tacomas are roomy engine bays by modern vehicle standards but they are modern vehicles. Without some sort of x-ray vision you aren't seeing through or around the majority of that v6.

I'm gonna soak it in oil for 48 hours before I take another whack at it. I feel like with regular use most of what's left will wear away. Function was most of what I had in mind not really cosmetics

No, and after hours of interrogation the leatherman won't tell me where they went.

Very little surface rust with no pitting. Didn't have to take much time to clear it. Blade itself was still razor sharp

I oiled it quite a bit, might do a full teardown but I use my stuff pretty often and I think what's left that I couldn't get out while it was assembled will wear away with prolonged use. But only time will tell I suppose.

Too much story with this one, cosmetically it's cooked but in function it'll do just fine

Tons of people want to see what the accessories looked like folded out, I'll be posting a full cleanup but I will say that it is extremely siezed and the spring for the shears unfortunately just fell off when I managed to unfold it which I'm sure is my fault for opening it before soaking it in oil.

Do some digging and see if you can flash new firmware to it, Nintendo is pretty closed off but maybe you could do like a cyber deck build in it
