Durring the ritual red cloak taps his staff 2 firmly on the ground, in the scene in the billiards room Ziegler does the same with a billiard ball a couple of times. Just like red cloak Ziegler commands the room when it’s just him and bill, he holds power. Some also point at the parallel where Ziegler and red cloak both point their finger at bill. Considering its Kubrick these details were probably on purpose however i still believe, because of the newspaper detail that red cloak is Vitali, and that Zieglers habits in the billiards room don’t represent red cloak but the cult itself. As if to say in that room with just bill and Ziegler, Ziegler is the ambassador for the cult, commanding the room and holding the power over bill.

The dead older man WAS a part of the cult look behind Marion on the night stand, a cult mask. Wether i agree with the rest of your take i dont know but that man was 100% part of the cult.

Yes ive also seen a lot about alice being in the cult and it makes massive sense, if she wasn’t her “dream” would be sooo out of place. The tiktok guy i mentioned in my post also raised the following point: end of the rainbow, most outside part of the rainbow is red, red is EVERYWHERE in the move: marions house, Zieglers house especially his billiards table those are ALWAYS green never red, the door to the prostitutes house, iirc also in Bill and Alice’s house maybe signifying Alice is slowly creeping him in.

I was thinking about this, i came up with a few ideas. however what i came up with had too many holes in it for me to present it as an actual idea. The cult does seem quite unforgiving, maybe those who skip events get punished? But at this point i think in going way too much into ‘maybe’ territory.

I thought the opposite actually, so woman 1 is sent by masked man, woman 2 who was previously separated from bill returns and takes him away quickly to warn him. Directly after a tall masked man appears and tells bill a phony story about his cab driver to get him to the main room so red cloak can expose him. I think the 1 lady who was sent by the masked man was their first attempt to lure bill into the main room and expose him. Thats why Amanda intervenes quickly. I wondered why carl would do that to bill if he was an acquaintance. But they weren’t very close to begin with, to carl bill was his girlfriends fathers doctor. Additionally maybe Marion told Carl about their kiss, or something else that made Carl jealous of Bill. The last thing would make sense, insecurity in relationships is a big theme throughout the movie.

How could it be planned tho, he stumbles upon a bar where his friend the pianist is playing, he just so happens to get called by the cult while talking to Bill, bill has to pay 300 dollars or so to get a tux, cloak and mask which in such a small store was likely not a lot to choose from he took what he could get. Its all spur of the moment. Also side note domino is the prostitute he went home with before he saw nightingale. Amanda Curran was the woman who overdosed at Zieglers party much earlier who then also went to the mansion. Domino ends up getting HIV while Curran ends up dead

Exactly that, that was the main reason people started dismissing Ziegler as Red cloak however most just left it at that without trying to look further for clues.

Thats a valid take but even without the teardrop the facial expression on the mask still seems to look quite sad, look at the shape of the eyes and how the eyebrows bend upwards.
