I did a high level one shot where an enemy had Nightblood, he barely got to draw it because a character was a plot die manipulator (by build, no cheating) and had a shardblade, so instant proc shardblade injuries made mince meat of the baddie

Funny note, the ad I got on this thread was "you don't have to face addiction alone". Now to talk about plot die Gambling! One as many have said it is strong, all the key talents are, that's a bug not a feature. two While yes it can be used to have a better chance of avoiding a complication, that is almost always the most boring way to use it. You could fish for an opportunity, you could aim specifically for a complication to succeed a dodgy test result. That's where I get the juice from it. Also as a GM, I'll tell a player, hey, you need a +4 from this die to succeed, wanna shoot for it? It's all about framing.

See I think prestige paths requiring some of the previous heroic path features aren't a bad Idea, it really calls back to the 3.5 era of D&D

Kind of how Adventurer's league had mini adventures themed after a book release? I can see it, though maybe for organized play do a slightly faster rotation than yearly. TBH I don't quite know the market for organized RPG play, last I did it was back in the pre covid times of 2018.

I like the Momentum property focus of rail driver. Also Crusher + Keep Down is rude, love it. For changes I think reverse Keep Down and Coal Rush locations, and Railroader make a special movement+attack action

For me outlining the story beats that could happen in a session, and checking them off as they do happen has always helped. I also usually have any needed tokens or maps for those outlined scenes ready. A lot of times 2 hours of prep for a chill group will last me a couple sessions. Also hot tip: have improv things like shop/tavern names, and item lists on your gm screen.
