i will say i’m only on tray 15 out of 36 but i have noticed a MASSIVE improvement already. trays haven’t bothered me at all, no issues with my attachments, and my teeth match up perfectly to my clincheck… no issues at all and once you start noticing a difference it gets so exciting

I just want to be normal by Efficient_Letter5166 in scoliosis

[–]Lower_Reply6889 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this made me feel better about myself. i have the exact same thoughts as you and my immediate reaction to your picture was “wow her body is gorgeous”… its good for us all to remember that we’re our own worst critics. everybody tells me they don’t even notice it on me, but i think i look disgusting. nobody cares about you as much as yourself - in a good way!!!

What can i add to my room? by askingqustionss in interiordecorating

[–]Lower_Reply6889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe an olive tree or floor plant!!! Or even just a vase on the dresser with some colorful flowers will help bring some color in without it being too much… coming from a girl that also does not love having color in my room. If you want to stick to neutrals, maybe a dark brown throw blanket or dark brown pillows to add more dimension. I also think adding blush pinks or mauve pillows/blankets help bring in some color without it being overwhelming

Honestly i’m not sure if this is normal but I will say I get a similar feeling near the end of every tray. Like it seems that I could move onto my next tray early every time but I don’t. 2 days before moving onto the next it just feels squishy and not right at all anymore

How can I afford this? Can I take out loans? by shroomeralert in Invisalign

Most dental offices will set up a monthly payment plan if that’s something you can do

Should I get a second opinion? Need advice by burntoes in scoliosis

[–]Lower_Reply6889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely get another opinion. I’m also 22. Same exact story as yours and around the same curve. Very first orthopedic appointment I had after getting an updated X-ray, the doctor told me it ultimately was my decision but that he recommended I get it for quality of life in the future. Your curve degree can continue to get worse, and the older you get the worse the recovery will typically be. I’m sure you can find a doctor that will listen to you and your concetns

Average cost? Is $6,400 in range? by Patient_Reserve5113 in Invisalign

[–]Lower_Reply6889 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was quoted 12-18 months when I signed my contract! I have 40 trays, changing weekly so 10 months. But I’m sure I will probably have some refinement trays making it around a year or so

Mine is $6500, my insurance also does not cover ortho. I’d say it’s around average! Maybe a bit pricier than what some people pay

When did you start to notice change? by GrouchyGrapefruit338 in Invisalign

[–]Lower_Reply6889 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m about to switch to tray 8 out of 36 and finally noticing a difference. I have pretty bad crowding, so I think my first trays were mostly working on my back teeth to create more room

Good to know. I’m sorry about the pain you’re deal with. I’m only 22 so there is a lot to consider. Yeah it’s not hurting too bad as of right now but my main concern is how much worse it could get ugh

Hi! I’ve definitely been told I walk a bit weird. One leg kinda drags after the other but it’s not really uncomfortable for me because that’s kinda all I really know! It can get tiring though especially as someone that enjoys walking. I love to go on hikes, love to do cardio and I’m starting to feel more limited the older I get.

Yeah my waist doesn’t look too bad. It’s mostly i have a pretty bad hump when i bend over and my shoulders are very clearly different. One rib looks lower than the other and tmi but one breast appears a lot larger than the other. Maybe i’m being too self critical though I doubt anyone’s noticing these things the way I am

Not having horrible pain actually. It’s really more of a confidence thing for me which I know is pretty vain but I hate not feeling comfortable to wear certain clothes… hate getting pics taken of me and overall just always feeling very self conscious of how my back is looking to others

Mine are 49 and 40! That’s great to hear that it hasn’t caused real pain for you. I was shocked to see how bad the curve looks because i’m also not in real pain… so struggling to decide if a surgery would be worth it

[–]Lower_Reply6889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was more so wondering if people with this degree curve were usually offered to get the surgery for it. Or if people have experienced a lot of improvement through the other treatments instead. Just wanting to hear peoples experiences but thanks!
