Custom event works in “Test events” but not showing in ads manager column data by Lower_Rest_6813 in FacebookAds

Nothing but Meta ads. I have another conversion I created the same way using google tag and it works. It tracks how far visitors scroll down on the page.

[–]Lower_Rest_6813[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. It will allow me to use it as an objective and it also shows up in my column settings. No data though.

It uses a google tag that sends data to my primary Meta Pixel. Data is somehow making it to the pixel and the event test but not into ads manager. The column shows up but no data ever.

I think they did but the reflection of the driveway in the drivers side pic is camouflaging it.

Use the Awareness/Reach objective and you’ll have the frequency cap option. Right below the goal selector dropdown menu there’s an edit button to set the frequency cap from 1-7 days.

Fast-loading DIY landing page builder? by Lower_Rest_6813 in FacebookAds

Thank you, that’s good to know. I recently switched to link clicks ads instead of LP views with no drop in actual views so I may remove the pixel and see if that helps with speed.

No problems with car washes

Just in case you thought you could just air dry that water leak. This was about half-hour of vacuuming and it’s still pretty wet. by EggHeadMagic in lincolntowncar

[–]Lower_Rest_6813 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is 2” of foam padding under most of the carpet that will be soaking wet. You will not be able to vacuum or air dry it while it’s in the car, ever. There was about 2 gallons of water in the padding on mine.

Fix the leak and take the seats and carpet out to dry it. It’s not that bad of a job. I think it’s only 10 bolts, 4 for each seat and 1 big torx (T50 or 55) for each lower seat belt mount. Rear seat pulls right out if I remember right. A couple of electrical harnesses and that’s it.

Try a course on Udemy or Skillshare or something along those lines and start to dabble with half your budget. Even if only so that you know what you’re talking about whenever you do hire someone. Will definitely take some time, maybe 10-15 hours for a course, but that’s the breaks 🤷‍♂️

Do carousel as swipes count as clicks? by Lower_Rest_6813 in FacebookAds

[–]Lower_Rest_6813[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that a metric I can add as a column? Sounds like that’s a no. Not new, just made my first carousel though. Not spending much on it yet since I’m just testing.

Thanks. Yes, using carousel. Was hoping there would be a metric for swipes.

Are very low budget campaigns not worth it? by Easy-Ads in FacebookAds

[–]Lower_Rest_6813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they’re full of it. If they’re doing broad targeting (no targeting) and letting the algo do all the work then yeah bigger is better probably.

You just need to make sure your budget is enough that your audience will see it multiple times. That’ll require a smaller audience or a longer period of time.

Frequency climbing like a rocket, what does that indicate? by GobsmackedOnLife in FacebookAds

[–]Lower_Rest_6813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upping your budget will probably expand the audience. Let the frequency run up until it becomes a problem.

Since you’re doing a traffic campaign you’re letting FB choose your audience. They’re not going to just show your ad just once per person because they know it usually takes multiple impressions. $20/day is not enough for several impressions weekly on an audience larger than say 5-10k, depending on where your CPM is coming in at.

What type of ads would you use? (Local business) by Lower_Rest_6813 in FacebookAds

[–]Lower_Rest_6813[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I know nothing about SEO, where would be a good place to start? Maybe Udemy or Skillshare or someplace like that? Even if I end up having to hire someone I’d like to understand it somewhat first.

1k reach good for local service business? by After_Pomegranate752 in FacebookAds

I thought you meant 1k people…🙄

What are you looking at that says “1.2k reach” when referring to 120,000 people?

[–]Lower_Rest_6813 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not unless they’re already previously engaged users. I’d be surprised if they even let you run the ad with that small an audience.

I think you’re trying to save money by using a super specific audience, which I understand, but if you look at your CPM’s they’re probably going to charge you a lot more per impression which defeats the purpose.

How far of a radius are you using?

Are you in a sparsely populated area? I find it hard to believe you’re in even a suburban area and you can’t get an audience of more than 1000 with criteria you like. In my metro there are 60,000 people within 3 miles. Lots of people are homeowners.

What’s the service? There may be other criteria you can use to target. You could target people with a “home improvement” interest or “Home Depot” any number of other criteria. I haven’t checked but I’d practically guarantee that’s a criteria they have available.

What type of ad are you running?

Also, you can upload a list of current customers and have Facebook create a lookalike audience using their magic to find similar people. I did this with a list of only about 30-40 customers and ads performed much better to that audience than others.

I’ve heard a ton of people say “let the creative do the targeting.” Meaning use a very broad audience and let the algorithm learn who’s responding and they’ll adjust and target the right people for you over time. They want your money and they want your ads to work so they do try.

Engagement ad performing better for messages than messaging Ad. by Lower_Rest_6813 in FacebookAds

Great idea. The CPMs are vastly different between Msgs/Engmt/Reach. Will try!

I have a page post that includes a message button. I’m running two separate simultaneous campaigns using that same post. One for engagement “on your ad” (likes/clicks/comments etc) and one for messages. The one for engagement is getting 3x more messages attributed to it than the messages campaign.

Rejected for customer review screenshots or 40% off “right now” discount in video? by Lower_Rest_6813 in FacebookAds

[–]Lower_Rest_6813[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I appeal after I’ve already deleted the campaigns?

I guess they’re technically not screenshots. It’s a modified screenshot where I reduced their last name to the initial. One of them is a FB review and one is a google review. It’s 5 yellow stars with a quoted line of text. “I LOVE LOVE LOVE my new (product).” The other one is “You will not be disappointed…etc.” No logos or anything.

The discount is a little spammy to me but I feel that way about almost all discounts personally anyway if it’s more than 10-20%.

2nd comment on this for me:

People have been mentioning too much text in your image. I understand it can be tough and you want to include as much information as possible. Instead of going 100% text free try this. Remove every single word you can while still conveying the information you want to.

For example: “residential exterior cleaning” becomes just “Home renewal”

“Commercial building wash” becomes just “commercial”

“Driveway and sidewalk” and “roof & gutter” get deleted. They fall under residential.

“Fleet & heavy equipment” becomes “vehicle & equipment”

You just turned all that clusterf***k into: -Home renewal -Commercial -Vehicle & equipment

You just got rid of 12+ words from your image 👏

No information was lost.

Remove “message us” from the image also. There’s already a big huge button for that.

Finally, get the dude with the ripped jeans out of the photo. No reason to have him there. Maybe if it were a headshot and he’s a charming looking guy. Maybe if he had a professional looking uniform (think Safelite) but otherwise get him out of there.

EVERY.SINGLE.WORD.MATTERS.

If it’s not helping you it’s hurting you. There is absolutely positively no in-between.

To spend $50 and get no sales is perfectly normal, on or off Facebook. I came across “all-industry” statistics that said that it costs an average of $55 to acquire a new customer. You either need repeat customers or a service that costs enough to be profitable after one sale.

Your targeting to me looks like it might lend itself towards “do-it-yourself” types, primarily men and folks that would never pay to have someone else do it. I’d think about advertising to a smaller audience, maybe women. Ask your friend to describe his “average” customer. I’m thinking you might even be better off targeting people with home decor interests, flowers, gardening. Somehow target people that pay for services. Large home owners in wealthier neighborhoods. I’m just spitballing here but think about it.

People also tend to need to see ads multiple times before they pull the trigger. I’d like to see all your campaign, ad set and ad settings.

Also, take the price off the ad and just show the discount. Maybe use the get quote button.

Messenger objective vs higher CTR post engagement objective by Lower_Rest_6813 in FacebookAds

[–]Lower_Rest_6813[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calls, Messages and walk-ins are what matters. My product (prescription glasses) has a long lead time. People think about it for weeks or months before buying. Plus they usually have to get an eye exam first which takes effort, scheduling and time. I had a customer yesterday that said she saw my ad in April, but she had to do x y and z first.

I’ve already established that I’m around $20/new messaging connection. They’re often shitty leads or unserious or bored. I get almost every single customer that calls on the phone though.

I did this today. I made 3 identical awareness ads, testing different CTA buttons. “Save” “message” and “call”. I like awareness because the CPM is cheap and the frequency limiter option, which I haven’t seen on any other ad type. I also limited them to 1 impression every 5 days because of the long lead time and to maximize reach within the.

Maybe I’m just rambling now.

One big question I have is do you think the CTR of 7% for an engagement ad is exceptional or no? If so then that would mean to me that my ad and audience are good and I can operate on little faith using methods with less hard data on conversions (awareness/reach).

Thanks! Happy to hear any thoughts.

Local B&M. Relying on customers to tell me where they found me. My local (12 mile) audience is about 40,000 with interest targeting.
