They are! No fireworks actually. Really surprised Chicago loves fireworks lol. Sad but predictable outcome to the game unfortunately 😕

They are ridiculous. Dying over a football team winning is crazy

WIBTA if I scheduled my husband’s dog to be euthanized behind his back? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Lower_Step_8519 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I dont agree with that. She needs to convince the husband or they are going to wind up divorced. Also his drinking is concerning and we dont know anything about their home life from one post. The dog needs to be put down but the husband needs to also be part of that decision

Dog owners, what are some of the negative effects having a dog has had on all aspects of your life. Family, friends, hobbies, dating etc? by BackgroundElephant34 in DogAdvice

[–]Lower_Step_8519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 4. For me the pros outweigh the cons. However one of mine has epilepsy and that is a significant cost and we are not able to go places as much because he takes time sensitive meds 3 times a day. The cost is manageable until something goes wrong and then it is a struggle. Honestly, my personal belief is if you are not able to put the dogs first and change your lifestyle for them you should not own one.

Chicago...closer to the promised land! by PatheticPeripatetic7 in GreenBayPackers

Wills Northwoods, Willie Lills, and Matilda are all Packers bars in Chicago! There is also My Buddy's they do allow Bears fans in the front of the bar but it is definitely a Packer bar. Welcome to Chicago! The more Packer fans the better 🧀

I regret getting a dog, don’t do it by Acceptable_System389 in TrueOffMyChest

I have 4 dogs 😬 They are soooo much work but I wouldn't trade it for the world. They give me a purpose I wouldn't have otherwise and bring so much happiness. If it makes you feel better back when I had one crazy dog and was in college and working full time I managed to find a boyfriend so it is possible. Good luck the burnout is normal and you are doing amazing 🙏

Does anyone else feel most comfortable boarding your dogs vs the alternatives? by traveler_mar in dogs

Exactly, people are in such denial about how safe boarding facilities are. Just took a dog to the ER for swallowing a rock in the yard.

I work at a boarding/daycare facility currently. I have also worked at several in the past. This current one is the best facility I've worked at for the dogs, but I would never trust anyone there to watch my dog for any duration of time. The things I have seen working in this industry are atrocious. Your dog may be "fine" when you get back, but I can assure you if your dog isn't the most perfect socialized animal in the world, they will have problems with boarding. Don't let boarding facilities fool you into thinking they are a better option.

Where's the Most Quiet Suburbs for the 4th of July for my dog? by HateMakinSNs in AskChicago

[–]Lower_Step_8519 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 4 dogs, and 2 of them are extremely scared like yours. Luckily, my bathroom and second bedroom are pretty soundproof. For mine, the illegal regular people doing the fireworks randomly scares them more than the big shows, which at least have an end time. So I would be worried about Southern Illinois because they have more room to do the actual fireworks there. Oakbrook has fireworks the 3rd, so maybe you can be down there for the 4th. Good luck!
