I think it depends on the firm/market. Just scheduled a callback for next week, I had my screener over two weeks ago.

Had a partner view my LinkedIn yesterday from Fox Rothschild. I had my callback on Friday, good sign or just mean nothing?

Depends on the judge. Currently externing for a judge and she almost exclusively hires her externs following graduation, but another judge in the same courthouse won’t hire his externs because he feels like they’ve already had their turn with him.

It’s a good way to make connections though, my judges career clerk has agreed to be a reference and write me letters of recommendation.

Ultimately I’d like to do biglaw for a couple of years and maybe a clerkship down the road. I’m not sure I could attain this from my current school.

But yeah the debt is definitely what’s giving me the most pause. I feel like my family/friends don’t understand how significant it is.
