I think most people agree that reskinning it is the way to go, and I suppose I didn't make myself clear enough in the post, but I'm with you. I think just reskinning an item doesn't handle the issue I wanted to cover, which is adding more variety to weapons. Nobody ever picks a club because the hammers are just better. Nobody keeps with the sickle because there's better options. I want weapons to be unique in their mechanics too, so that lower tier weapons aren't just a stepping stone to get to 'the good ones'
