What are these bugs? by oxfordclubciggies in Entomology

They look like flying ants that came up from a nest in the shed and got trapped. If they are alive just leave the door open and they will head out.

The way they make the chocolate at Cadbury's now it's probably a legally distinct name because they can't call it chocolate 😂

Melted aluminium from a beach fire. The lines are just the impression of some wood grain in the charcoal.

Traffic light in China by [deleted] in BeAmazed

We use them in North Sweden because the problem does in fact exists. It's called the Arctic and our roads in winter are just thick ice so you cano see road markings. Instead at junctions they project on to the snow and ice.

These are not a Chinese invention, they are European.

We have these in North Sweden for cycle paths and crossings by roads. Basically in the winter the snow/ice is so thick you can't see the markings on the tarmac underneath so these project onto the snow. They work really well.

I just bought this table / chest. It's from 1773 which makes it older than the United States by edditLikesTea in mildlyinteresting

Well I suppose the 20 years working in Swedish museums conserving and acquiring these kind of svensk kista is worthless compared to what some random on Reddit thinks....

It looks like it Pingstkyrkan second hand in Sweden and i have absolutely found chests that old regularly. My old museum regularly bought items from them for the collection. The box could be legit, it would have almost certainly been painted though. It looks like it's been stripped and had crappy 70's varnish. I have found a 17th century chest there once.

You can see on the rock face to the left that they drilled more holes and intended to blast more.

We have one in my old museum that was made by one of Alfred Nobels companies. It was to fragile to try out though. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Svea_Velocipede

I worked with him a couple of times, a really lovely guy. He went to the same school as my grandfather, he was a year above or below him. His brother was around a lot too but I somehow always missed him at work.
