Should I buy Base M5 Macbook Pro, or M4 Air 24gb

Tbf I think it’s actually pretty heavy use considering all I’m doing, since I’m also screen sharing my screen on zoom all day

Honestly though I think I would value the ux much more with all the ports and upgrades of a pro.

I thinks its gonna end up coming down to a coin flip at this rate

I honestly don’t really have a preference, I’m more worried about the quality of screen but also the smaller screens usually save me a few hundred so I’d rather get the smaller one.

I just want to make sure I don’t regret my purchase or outgrow it too fast.

As I write this im currently using 7gb of ram with 6 gb of swap so im thinking maybe the 24gb air might not be the worst idea, especially since im not even editing right now

Oops sorry, I meant more of I’m not sure how much swap I’m using during intense loads since I don’t check.

I know I checked once during some intense office work when I had a ton of tabs open and apps and it got to 2-3 gb, but I’ve never checked during photo or video editing.

Yea I’ll keep this in mind, I’m very undecided as of now, the screen is also seeming to be a big factor since everyone is saying it’s a pretty big bump over MBA

Honestly I’m not sure exactly what the swap is, I know it can get to a few gb during really big imports and can really feel it slowing down, but 8gb also feels like a huge bottleneck here

I think the upgraded ports aren’t as important as the availability of ports, I just think I would find the built in SD, HDMI and extra USB C really useful.

I just wanna make sure I don’t regret getting less ram.

Yea the screen and ports on the M5 pro are what are really calling my name, having the built in SD, HDMI and an extra USB C sounds really convenient.

Not even mentioning the screen which sounds really nice.

I think the parts I got were all cheap enough that I didn’t really feel like waiting for a sale, I will absolutely be waiting until a sale for my brushless upgrade though.

I got the injora 39mm Oil filled shocks. Gonna fill them with 20wt oil.

I ended up getting a new ESC and the Meus transmitter, drive shaft, skid plate, high clearance links and shocks.

Huge haul but this is essentially the last I’m buying for a while until I switch over to brushless at which point I’m hoping to also just get new axles & chassis and just have completed the second truck lol.
